Recapping the Game That Wasn’t & Brett Favre’s Induction

We had planned to talk about the Green Bay Packers first preseason game when we got together on Sunday evening. As you know, that didn’t happen.

It gave us plenty of opportunity to make fun of the NFL, though. So we did that instead. That and we talked about what we wanted to see and couldn’t.

Of course, we couldn’t ignore what has been happening in training camp. That includes the job everyone is talking about — the third receiver.

We (along with the Packers) have been waiting for someone to stake their claim to that job. So far, both Jeff Janis and Davante Adams have been unable to do so.

That leaves us pondering the alternatives.

Finally, we couldn’t not talk about Brett Favre’s Hall of Fame induction. I admit that my anger toward Favre finally dissipated on Saturday night. Now it’s merely disappointment.

Oh, and you don’t want to miss Shawn’s angry rant about Aaron Rodgers.

I disagree with your opinion that Aaron Rodgers shouldn’t care about preseason games, or how many they play. Personally for himself, yeah he shouldn’t care because if he doesn’t play then there is obviously zero risk of getting injured. But what about his teammates? Should he not care about them? If any of his teammates get injured in a meaningless game, that shouldn’t be a big deal to him?
