It was an eventful weekend for the Green Bay Packers. The team returned after final roster cuts looking quite a bit different than anyone suspected they would.
That starts with the release of veteran guard Josh Sitton, but it didn’t stop there. Lane Taylor will take Sitton’s place in the starting lineup.
Are we angry? Yes, but not because the Packers released Sitton. For an entirely different reason.
Just your garden variety total and complete failure, something the Packers are becoming excellent at.
There was one benefit of releasing Sitton, though. We’ll discuss what that is and how it might affect some of his former teammates.
On defense, the Packers will go with rookie Blake Martinez and second-year player Jake Ryan at inside linebacker after Sam Barrington’s release. Not Sitton surprising, but certainly interesting after seeing Ryan in action.
We’ll get to the seven receivers, the six safeties and what our new running back brings to the table.
Plus, we can’t forget to have a laugh at the Minnesota Vikings’ expense. Sam Bradford? Yeah, that should get you right to 8-8, Minnesota!
Hell, regular season football is finally right around the corner. At least we’ve got that to look forward to.
Get at it!
