Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery appears to have a memory similar to that of quarterback Aaron Rodgers’. It has been well-documented how Rodgers carried a grudge for years toward anyone who said anything negative about him entering the 2005 draft.
People apparently said some negative things about Montgomery, as well. He remembers.
Montgomery sent out this note about his draft experience in 2015, on Tuesday.

If it weren’t for necessity, Montgomery might still be a name no one had heard of. Remember back to the early part of the 2016 season and you’ll recall that Mike McCarthy barely utilized Montgomery. Instead, he really only played Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams and Randall Cobb at receiver.
Only was it when the Packers had run out of running backs that Montgomery got a real chance, converting from receiver to running back. We would argue that he still didn’t get enough of a chance (or touches), but still. Montgomery proved he could be a game-changer when given opportunities.
We look forward to more of that in 2017.
