If you’re one of the people believing the noise on Jamaal Charles to the Green Bay Packers, Charles is now officially available. He was released by the Kansas City Chiefs today.
Chiefs are releasing RB Jamaal Charles, per source.

Unlike Adrian Peterson, who won’t have his option picked up for 2017, Charles is free to immediately sign with another team. Peterson will have to wait until free agency opens next week. That’s the difference between a contract that is technically expiring and one that was terminated.
What do we expect to come of this?
Absolutely nothing as far as the Packers are concerned.
Charles and Peterson are in the same boat — over 30 and coming off major knee injuries.
If the Packers are going to sign a running back coming off an injury, they might as well go and re-sign 26-year-old Eddie Lacy. It now appears that was the plan all along.
