With an exclusive rights tender valued at $570k, the Packers will be bringing back linebacker Reggie Gilbert for next season.
Lucas Patrick also will be tendered, I’m told https://t.co/GWhO704EdY

This will help with the much needed depth with edge rushers next season. Gilbert initially signed with the Packers as an unrestricted free agent in May 2016. He played all 16 games last season with the Packers for a total of 37 tackles. That is the type of consistency that will help LaFleur out next year. This move seems like a no-brainer.
Per Packers Press Release:
Gilbert, a 6-foot-3, 261-pound first-year player out of the University of Arizona, originally signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016. He spent the entire 2016 season and the first 15 weeks of this season on the Packers’ practice squad. In college, Gilbert played in 57 career games, starting 47, and finished with 143 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In his final season, he was one of four senior captains, was named All-Pacific-12 honorable mention and was voted the team’s Defensive Player of the Week by the coaches four times.
In the past, Total Packers writers have had a positive outlook on Gilbert:
Gilbert looks like the real deal.
As much as most of us disliked Ted Thompson, he was good at one thing. Undrafted free agents.
At 25, Gilbert still has room for growth and progress. We have likely yet to see the best of him.

Packers will also bring back Jake Kumerow next season
The Packers have tendered popular WR Jake Kumerow for 2019, a source said. The exclusive rights free agent should have a good shot at the 53 again. https://t.co/iNvrEA4UCQ

Aaron Rodgers on Kumerow:
I think Jake Kumerow has had a fantastic camp. I think you have to spotlight him. He’s made a ton of plays – did it all spring and summer and now he’s getting reps with me and making a ton of plays. He’s running the right route all the time and making contested catches and putting the ball away. It’s been pretty impressive for a guy from a small school in Wisconsin.

Also, the Redskins have snatched up Landon Collins. A moment of silence.
