It’s a good thing that is not as bad as it sounds. Green Bay Packers cornerback Davon House went down with what appeared to be a scary injury against the Cleveland Browns.
House hit the deck and didn’t get up. It has been reported that he has a transverse process fracture in his back. Those would be the little knobs that are on the back of the vertebrae bone.
House won’t play against the Carolina Panthers this week. However, these injuries have known to heal quickly and House may return befor the season is over.
The injury further complicates the Packers’ cornerback situation. Kevin King and Quinten Rollins are already on injured reserve. That currently leaves the Packers with a starting tandem of Damarious Randall and Josh Hawkins. Safety Morgan Burnett is expected to take over in the slot.
The remaining cornerbacks on the roster are Demetri Goodson, who hasn’t played yet this season, and undrafted free agents Lenzy Pipkins and Donatello Brown. Pipkins played 46 snaps in Minnesota, but hasn’t played in any other game. Brown hasn’t played on defense at all.
