Jordy Nelson has come a long way since this. Fourteen years ago, he was a senior at Riley County High School.
Nelson was a standout in football — 1,029 passing yards and eight touchdowns, plus 1,572 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns, basketball — 17.2 points per game, and track — Class 3A state titles in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
By the way, your suspicions are correct. Jordy played quarterback in high school.
Anyway, here he is winning one of those state titles in track.

He actually doesn’t look a hell of a lot different, does he?
