And you’d think that would be his demographic.
The Press-Gazette did a profile on Rose Arbes on Monday. They did this because she just turned 100 and has been a Green Bay Packers fan since 1937.
And that’s pretty swell.
What is even sweller in my mind is that Rose took some time to trash Packers general manager Ted Thompson during the interview. Although her initial ire with Thompson predictably arose because he jettisoned Brett Favre, it has held strong over the years.
“That year, Brett Favre had the best team around him. They would have won (the Super Bowl),” Arbes declared. “I’ve held it against (Thompson) since then.”
And what about the Packers’ chances in 2017?
“I don’t think they’re going to do pretty good … because (Thompson) doesn’t know how to buy,” she said.
So I think it’s official. Everyone except Mark Murphy hates Big Ted’s guts.
