Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers pretty much blew off Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman after Thursday night’s embarrassment. That’s understandable. Rodgers was probably pissed because he played like shit and Sherman is a windbag, who always has to have something to say about everything.
Sherman approached Rodgers after the game and appeared to ask if the Packers avoided him. It looked like Rodgers said “yup” and then left Sherman hanging on the fist bump. Rodgers has a different story.
“I think I said, ‘I hope you get some work this year,'” Rodgers said on Tuesday. “By that point, I knew that we hadn’t really looked to his side or thrown to his side, and I just said that to him, and I think we kind of laughed about it and went on the way.”
Okay. Not that we care, but it didn’t appear they laughed about anything and Rodgers definitely left Sherman hanging on the fist bump.
Maybe these guys don’t like each other. I mean, has anyone pointed out that one of them went to Cal and the other one went to Stanford? That’s some rivalry shit there. With bands on the field!
But whatever.
It sounds to us like Rodgers doesn’t like being questioned about Richard Sherman.
By now, everyone knows that the Packers didn’t throw the ball at Sherman. Of course, what very few people have acknowledged is that Sherman covered the Packers third receiver, Jarrett Boykin, all game.
He didn’t cover Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb for one play. Most defenses find the opposition’s best receiver and stick their No. 1 corner on him.
Not the Seahawks. You’re apparently supposed to find Richard Sherman and then play your No. 1 receiver wherever Sherman lines up. Because he doesn’t move. And then wonders why passes don’t get thrown his way when he’s covering the No. 3 guy.
