The Packers’ win over the Vikings this past Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium was one of those games that the score does not really tell the hole story. Despite being a bit close numerically — statistically, the Packers absolutely dominated the Vikings in their own stadium to open up the 2020 season.
The Packers had their way with the Vikings’ young and inexperienced secondary that did not have the benefit of a preseason to hone their skills. Further, the Vikings’ pass-rush was almost nonexistent and QB Aaron Rodgers, arguably motivated by the off-season acquisition of QB Jordan Love, was firing on all cylinders.
Despite going in as the underdog according to sports books, the Packers dominated time of possession and only had to punt the ball once.
