Reunited and it feels so good! The Green Bay Packers are bringing cornerback Tramon Williams back after three years away.
Williams is getting a two-year deal, according to former teammate James Jones, who seems to have all the news on former teammates lately.
REUNITED: Sources tell me CB Tramon Williams @HighRizer22 will be returning to the #Packers on a 2-Year Deal…He played there for 9 years and helped seal the #SBXLV victory…Much needed CB help is on the way @nflnetwork @NFL

One, Jones is right. The Packers are in terrible need of cornerback depth. Before signing Williams, their depth chart looked something like this: Kevin King, Josh Hawkins, Lenzy Pipkins, Quinten Rollins, Demetri Goodson, Donatello Browns and Herb Waters.
Five of those guys are former undrafted free agents. Two are coming back from injured reserve.
Williams, who is 35, returns to the Packers after two years in Cleveland and one in Arizona. So the second question is, can the old man still play? The answer seems to be yes and he appears to be getting paid accordingly.
Former #Packers CB Tramon Williams is back in Green Bay on a 2-year deal worth roughly $10M, source said. He passed his physical and agreed to terms. … as @89JonesNTAF predicted.

Williams had 41 tackles, two interceptions and 12 passes defended for the Cardinals in 13 games in 2017. More impressive is he was the ninth highest graded corner by Pro Football Focus, at 88.8. That’s miles better than any of the Packers cornerbacks in 2017. Their highest grade hilariously went to Pipkins, who had a 69.7 in limited action. The next highest was Davon House at 50.3. Everyone else was in the 40s.
It’s possible Williams’ play could fall off a cliff in 2018, but he would be hard pressed to play worse than any of the Packers’ cornerbacks did in 2017 even if he tried.
As for the roster, I still wouldn’t mind seeing anther veteran added to the secondary. Even if he’s a little long in the tooth, let’s create a cornerback/safety battle royal and let them fight it out for the starting spots. Hell, let’s draft a guy or two and throw them in the mix too.
