Hey, big surprise, huh? But forewarning here: this is not at all about the Green Bay Packers.
Frankly, I just couldn’t quite overlook it, as much as I wanted to.
This is about the Dallas Cowboys and the bag of shit that runs that team, Jerry Jones.
The Dallas Cowboys — Jerry Jones — cut receiver Lucky Whitehead on Monday. They did so after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant was for failure to appear in court.
At first, I said to myself, “Well, only dumbasses who want to go to jail fail to appear in court.”
But as it appears, Whitehead didn’t even commit the crime in question — shoplifting. The warrant was issued in West Virginia and, by many indications, Whitehead was not even in Virginia at the time. It has been since confirmed that someone stole his identity.
So, big surprise that Lucky Whitehead didn’t know he’s supposed to appear in court to face a charge he didn’t commit and was unaware of.
The Cowboys cut him anyway. And the only reason that’s relative is this.
- They aren’t bringing him back, regardless
- This an organization that harbors anyone, so long as they’re talented
Lucky Whitehead is not an amazing talent. He’s fast and he can contribute to a team, but Dez Bryant, he is not.
And that’s really the point. No. 2 is the point.
Jerry Jones went out of his way to vehemently defend star running back Ezekiel Elliott against domestic abuse charges last week. Elliott has been accused of abuse in Ohio, where he played at OSU.
Did the Cowboys cut him when they heard of this?
Hell no! That guy ran for more than 1,600 yards last year!
The Cowboys have also ignored the bar incident where Elliott reportedly punched someone in the face.
The issue Jones picked was domestic abuse, in this case. The biggest issue that the shield doesn’t want to talk about. So Elliott BETTER be innocent.
And we’ll reserve judgment on that for now. The point is, the Cowboys cut a less-talented player without even gathering the facts, but they’ll never part with a key cog in winning, regardless.
Should I bring up Michael Irvin? Or should we go back to Dez Bryant?
The inmates rule the asylum down in that shithole. At least the talented ones.
If you’re not a star, you’re screwed.
Any respect I had for Jerry Jones went right out the door on Monday.
