The NFL gods have taken a dump on the Green Bay Packers this week and they’ve crapped nothing but glorious hardware. Cornerback Casey Hayward is latest Packer to receive an award, collecting the NFL’s defensive rookie of the month trophy.
Although, we’re not sure if there’s an actual trophy…
Hayward joins Aaron Rodgers, who won NFC offensive player of the month, and Davon House, who won NFC special teams player of the week, this week.
On the season, Hayward has 25 tackles and four picks. In October, he started his first two NFL games and recorded 13 of those tackles and all four of his interceptions.
The four picks have him tied for third in the NFL.
