Green Bay Packers’ Projected 2026 Record Isn’t Really Encouraging

The Green Bay Packers are entering the 2026 NFL season with tempered expectations following the release of their schedule. Early projections suggest the road ahead may be more challenging than initially anticipated.

The franchise’s projected record for 2026 has not generated strong optimism, as analysts point to a demanding slate of opponents. The outlook reflects concerns about consistency and the level of competition the team will face throughout the season.

Green Bay’s schedule includes multiple matchups against teams expected to contend, creating a difficult path to a strong record. Navigating those games will require the Packers to perform at a high level week after week.

The structure of the schedule also presents challenges, with stretches that could test depth and resilience. Maintaining momentum may prove difficult if the team encounters setbacks during key portions of the season.

Green Bay’s projected record for the upcoming NFL season isn’t looking as good as expected. This is detailed more in an analysis by Moe Moton for Bleacher Report.

2025 record: 9-8

Green Bay cut Nate Hobbs, signed Benjamin St-Juste and selected Brandon Cisse in the second round of the draft. Unless the rookie earns a starting role and makes more plays on the ball than he did in college (two interceptions and 10 pass breakups in three years), the Packers may continue to struggle in pass coverage.

Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon is a solid replacement for Jeff Hafley, who took the Miami Dolphins’ head-coaching job, but he may not have Parsons at 100 percent, which could significantly impact a secondary that’s vulnerable in pass coverage.

Head coach Matt LaFleur can still lead the Packers to another winning season with a top-12 scoring offense led by quarterback Jordan Love and running back Josh Jacobs, but the Packers will have to work harder to stay above .500 this year.

Despite the projections, the Packers possess a roster capable of competing when executing effectively. Their ability to adjust and respond to adversity will be critical in determining whether they can exceed expectations.

The projected record provides a cautious outlook rather than a definitive result. If the Packers can rise to the occasion against a tough schedule, they may still find a way to outperform early predictions and remain competitive throughout the season.
