Jake Flint and the Green Bay Packers are part of a quiet but important shift as the team prepares for the 2026 NFL season. The organization has made a coaching adjustment that reflects its continued focus on player development and performance.

Flint has been added to the Packers’ coaching staff as an assistant in strength and conditioning, a role that often operates behind the scenes but carries significant influence. His arrival signals an emphasis on refining the physical preparation of the roster as the demands of the season approach.

The Packers have long prioritized conditioning as a foundation for consistency, particularly in a league where durability can define success. Flint’s responsibilities will include supporting training programs designed to improve strength, endurance and recovery across the team.

His background working with collegiate programs provides experience in developing athletes at different stages, an asset for a roster that blends established veterans with emerging talent. That mix requires a tailored approach to ensure each player is prepared to perform at a high level.

Green Bay announced the hiring of Flint to serve as strength and conditioning coach ahead of the 2026 NFL season. This can be seen in an update shared by the team’s official website.

The Green Bay Packers have hired Jake Flint as a strength & conditioning assistant. Head Coach Matt LaFleur made the announcement on Monday.

Flint joins Green Bay after spending the past four seasons (2022-25) as the director of athletic development at Louisiana State University. Prior to joining the LSU staff in December 2021, Flint spent 12 years at the University of Notre Dame (2010-21) on the strength and conditioning staff, serving as co-director for the last five seasons. He came to the Irish after working as a member of the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Cincinnati from 2007-09. The former walk-on at Central Michigan University worked as a staff assistant at his alma mater in 2006, serving primarily in the weight room while also assisting with the development of the running backs.

While coaching changes at this level may not draw widespread attention, they often play a crucial role in shaping a team’s overall performance. Improvements in conditioning can translate into better execution, especially late in games when fatigue becomes a factor.

The addition of Flint represents another step in the Packers’ preparation for the season ahead. As the team builds toward 2026, even incremental changes like this can contribute to a stronger and more resilient roster.
