Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons shared a heartfelt reaction following the retirement announcement of former Dallas Cowboys teammate Stephon Gilmore. The moment marked the end of a decorated career for one of the league’s most respected defensive backs.

Gilmore officially stepped away from football after 13 seasons, closing the book on a career that included multiple Pro Bowl selections and a Defensive Player of the Year award. He also played a key role in a Super Bowl run and built a reputation as one of the NFL’s premier shutdown cornerbacks.

Parsons, who shared the field with Gilmore during their time with the Cowboys, quickly took to social media to acknowledge the veteran’s impact. His message reflected both respect and gratitude, highlighting the influence Gilmore had as both a teammate and a competitor.

The connection between the two players was formed during a season in Dallas when Gilmore brought veteran leadership to the secondary. Parsons, already an emerging defensive force at the time, benefited from the presence of a seasoned corner who had seen success at the highest level.

Parsons shared his thoughts about Gilmore’s decision to retire. This can be seen in a post he made on his official X account.

I’m blessed and honored to share the field with you. You’re a great person and a better teammate. Your wisdom and humility are unmatched! Thank you, OG! @BumpNrunGilm0re https://t.co/MMxOtKOgFC

Gilmore’s career spanned multiple teams, but his consistency remained a defining trait throughout his time in the league. From his early years to his peak performances, he established himself as a dependable and elite presence in the defensive backfield.

As tributes continue to pour in, Parsons’ reaction stands out as a reflection of the respect Gilmore earned across the league. His retirement signals the end of an era, while leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate with teammates and opponents alike.
