Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is taking a hard look at areas for improvement as the team prepares for the upcoming season. His focus centers on refining communication and strengthening the structure within the locker room.

Following a 2025 campaign that exposed internal challenges, LaFleur acknowledged that clearer direction from the coaching staff is necessary. The emphasis now is on ensuring players fully understand their roles and responsibilities moving forward.

LaFleur pointed to energy and consistency as key elements that must be reinforced daily. He stressed that establishing defined roles is critical to maintaining accountability and maximizing performance across the roster.

He emphasized that players must bring consistent effort while the coaching staff improves how responsibilities are communicated. LaFleur noted that role clarity is essential, adding that players who want bigger opportunities must take initiative to expand their role within the team.

LaFleur shared his thoughts about what can be improved from a coaching perspective. This is detailed more in an article by Wes Hodkiewicz for the team’s official website.

“You need guys that bring great energy every day. I think from a coaching standpoint, role clarity is key. So, we’ve got to obviously do a better job communicating with our players, ‘Hey here’s your role and if you’re unhappy about your role, it’s on you to do something about that, to carve out a role on this football team,” LaFleur said.

This approach reflects a broader effort to address issues that may have impacted the team’s performance last season. By prioritizing clarity and communication, the Packers aim to create a more focused and unified environment.

As the new season approaches, LaFleur’s message signals a shift toward greater accountability on both sides. Improving communication and defining roles more effectively could play a significant role in shaping the Packers’ success moving forward.
