The Green Bay Packers are navigating a demanding NFL offseason as the organization balances preparation with a packed calendar of league responsibilities. What is often viewed as a quiet period has proven to be anything but for those inside the franchise.

Team president Ed Policy offered insight into the realities of the offseason, emphasizing that the schedule remains full well beyond the regular season. From league meetings to organizational commitments, the workload continues at a steady pace.

The offseason includes major events such as the NFL Annual Meeting, where league decisions and discussions shape the direction of the sport. Preparation for the upcoming draft also commands significant attention as teams evaluate talent and finalize strategies.

In addition to league obligations, the Packers remain active in community initiatives that extend their presence beyond the field. Programs like the team’s offseason tour and fan engagement efforts play a key role in maintaining connections with supporters.

Policy recently shared his thoughts about the offseason this year. This is detailed more in an update he posted on the team’s official website.

“I hate to break it to you, but the offseason isn’t necessarily as full of downtime as you’d expect,” Policy wrote. There are a whole host of league meetings throughout the offseason and community events that fill up our calendar. Whether it is the Annual Meeting down in Arizona, the NFL Draft later this month, Tailgate Tour in a couple of weeks, or minicamp and OTAs, there isn’t a whole lot of down time. Our entire organization has many efforts that occupy our time in the offseason. All that being said, if I get some down time I enjoy kayaking on the Fox River, a round of golf with my sons, or an evening glass of wine with Christy.”

Football operations continue to move forward as well, with organized team activities and minicamp approaching. These phases are critical for player development, installation of schemes and building cohesion before training camp begins.

Despite the demanding schedule, Policy acknowledged the importance of finding moments to unwind when possible. As the offseason progresses, the Packers remain focused on balancing preparation with the responsibilities that come with operating at the NFL level.
