Green Bay Packers president Ed Policy is preparing for his first NFL Draft with the organization, embracing the significance of the moment as the team looks to strengthen its roster. Working alongside general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur, Policy is focused on supporting the process that will help shape the franchise’s future.

As draft week approaches, Policy has expressed optimism about how the event could unfold for the Packers. His hope is that the players identified by the team’s leadership will be available when selections are made, allowing the organization to maximize its preparation and planning.

The draft represents the culmination of months of work from the Packers’ scouting and personnel departments. Evaluators spend the entire season and offseason studying prospects, identifying talent and determining which players best fit the team’s system and culture.

Policy acknowledged the importance of that behind-the-scenes effort, recognizing the countless hours dedicated to building a comprehensive understanding of the draft class. The process extends well beyond the three-day event, but the draft itself remains a defining moment for the organization.

Policy shared his thoughts about the upcoming draft, his first one as the president. This can be seen in an update he posted on the team’s official website.

Well, I hope that every player that Brian and Matt want falls right in their laps. Watching the draft unfold is always impressive as it is the culmination of months of hard work from our scouts and talent evaluators. The men and women in our player personnel department put in countless hours of hard work behind the scenes all season and offseason trying to determine the players that are the best fit for our organization, and while that work doesn’t stop after the three days of the draft, it is certainly a pinnacle moment. Draft week is always a busy time around Lambeau and I look forward to ensuring Brian and Matt have everything they need from me going into the week to make the best decisions for our team going into the 2026 season.

Preparation for the draft also brings increased activity around Lambeau Field, as the front office finalizes strategies and coordinates logistics. Policy’s role includes ensuring that the football operations staff has the resources and support needed to make informed decisions.

As the Packers head into the 2026 season, the draft will play a crucial role in shaping the roster. Policy’s outlook reflects confidence in the team’s preparation and a commitment to helping the organization make the most of this pivotal opportunity.
