Green Bay Packers president Ed Policy has given fans an early glimpse into what could be one of the franchise’s most unique uniform releases in recent years. As anticipation builds, the announcement has added another layer of excitement heading into the 2026 season.

Policy revealed that a true alternate uniform is currently in development, signaling a departure from the team’s traditional looks. The upcoming design is expected to align with the NFL’s ongoing rollout of division-based rivalries uniforms.

The league introduced the concept last year with select divisions, and the NFC North is now set to take part in the initiative. That inclusion places the Packers among the teams preparing to unveil a fresh look tied to divisional matchups.

What sets this uniform apart is its intended focus on the Packers’ ownership structure, which remains one of the most distinctive in professional sports. By emphasizing that identity, the design aims to reflect the deep connection between the team and its community.

Policy shared an update about the team’s upcoming alternate uniforms. This can be seen in an article posted on the franchise’s official website.

“As I mentioned back in November, there is a true alternate uniform in the works. Last year, the NFL unveiled a new rivalries uniform for teams in the AFC East and NFC West. The NFC North is on the docket this year. Stay tuned and you’ll learn more in the coming months – but I will say this truly alternate uniform will celebrate our owners and emphasize our uniqueness,” Policy said.

The concept of a true alternate suggests a more creative approach compared to past variations, which have often leaned on historical throwbacks. This new direction offers an opportunity to blend tradition with innovation while highlighting what makes the franchise unique.

As details remain limited, the timeline for a full reveal is expected to unfold in the coming months. The anticipation surrounding the project reflects the continued evolution of the NFL’s approach to team branding and fan engagement.
