The New England Patriots will lock horns with the Seattle Seahawks in the eagerly anticipated Super Bowl LX on February 8.

The big game will attract plenty of attention from sports bettors in the US, but also including those in Europe and Canada, where the NFL is hugely popular. Many Canadians follow the Green Bay Packers, but they made an early exit from the play-offs. Despite this, punters in Canada will be wagering heavily on the Super Bowl.

The sportsbooks featured on the Super Bowl section on bettingtop10.ca are bracing themselves for a massive surge in activity in the coming days. Picking a winner is no easy task.

This will be the second time the Patriots and the Seahawks have faced each other in the Super Bowl, and there will likely be little to choose between them. The Patriots secured a narrow 28-24 victory in Super Bowl XLIX, but the Seahawks will be out for revenge.

With the Super Bowl set to generate huge upturn in betting activity, it is important for bettors to understand how to place wagers to improve their chances of winning. Read on as we look at how to bet on the upcoming Super Bowl clash in Santa Clara.

Understanding the Main Super Bowl LX Betting markets

People who bet on the Super Bowl usually focus on which team they think will come out on top, but that is not the only way to wager on the box office showdown.

Another core market is the point spread, which adds a handicap to make the game more even for betting purposes. Sportsbooks use the spread to balance the match-up by giving the underdog a head start or forcing the favorite to win by a certain margin.

The Seahawks are -4.5 on the spread, so they must win by five points or more to deliver a winning return to bettors. Spread betting appeals to those who want better odds while still backing the stronger team.
There is also total betting, which does not focus on who wins. You bet on whether the total number of points scored by both teams combined will be higher or lower than a number set by the sportsbook.

Betting Early with Super Bowl LX Futures

Futures betting is where people place bets in advance on who they think will win the Super Bowl, sometimes before the season even starts. Those early bets help shape how sportsbooks set and adjust odds over time. As the season goes on, odds change based on how teams perform and how much money is being placed on them.
Those who backed one of the Patriots or Seahawks early will have secured stronger prices long before the match-up was confirmed.

By the time the Super Bowl match-up is confirmed, the odds are usually tighter because there is more certainty and more public interest.

Understanding futures markets helps bettors read momentum. If one team entered the play-offs with shorter odds and maintained that status through each round, sportsbooks view them as the more stable and consistent option. That perception often carries over into Super Bowl betting, affecting point spreads and how the public chooses where to place their money.

Player Props: Betting on Individual Performances

One of the most popular ways to bet on the Super Bowl is through player props. These wagers focus on individual achievements rather than the final score, which makes them perfect for bettors who have strong opinions about specific players.

Quarterback passing yards are among the most common props. Rather than betting on the final score, bettors place wagers on how many yards a quarterback throws or whether a certain player scores a touchdown.

These bets are influenced by how people think the game will play out. That means predicting whether a team will run the ball a lot, control possession, or be forced to pass more.

Another popular option is touchdown scorer bets, where you wager on whether a player will score at any point during the game, score first or score multiple touchdowns.

The Super Bowl MVP bet is also popular. Most bettors choose quarterbacks, but if another player has a huge impact, such as a running back or defender, they could reward bettors who predict that outcome.

Patriots vs Seahawks Preview

The Patriots’ journey has been nothing short of unbelievable. They were an afterthought that won only four games last season. However, they have completely turned things around under head coach Mike Vrabel. He has built the best defensive unit in the league.

Their bruising, snow-covered 10-7 victory against Denver in the AFC Championship game was a testament to their resilience, so many will back them to defy the odds. They are heading into the Super Bowl as underdogs and getting the better of the Seahawks will be an uphill task.

The Seahawks arrive full of confidence after an eye-catching win over the Rams. The game showcased everything Seattle has become – fast, fearless and explosive. However, they would be foolish to underestimate the Patriots, who have defied the odds at every turn this season.
