The Green Bay Packers Foundation announced a significant update to its annual grant program, opening applications for 2026 and launching a new four‑year cycle. The change shifts the foundation’s review window to February through April and sets focus areas for each year of the cycle.
Under the new structure, the 2026 grant year will prioritize animal welfare, homelessness and human services, with eligible Wisconsin nonprofits able to submit a single application during the 2026–2029 cycle. Grant awards will generally range from 3,000to3,000 to 8,000 and will be determined based on the number of applications and total funding available.

Foundation leaders cited rising demand from local charities as the impetus for the change, noting that a longer cycle and earlier application window will give volunteer trustees more time to evaluate submissions. Final award decisions for this year are expected in July, with public announcements planned for late summer.
The announcement arrives as the Packers systemically expands its community support, working alongside Give BIG Green Bay and other local initiatives to amplify fundraising impact. The Give BIG campaign will again feature 50 nonprofits in a 24‑hour crowdfunding event later this month, backed by matching funds that include a substantial contribution from the Packers Foundation.
Community leaders said the combined approach of targeted grants and broader fundraising drives helps smaller organizations gain visibility and secure operational dollars for direct services. Over the past several years, Packers philanthropy and regional giving days have delivered millions to local programs addressing education, housing and health needs.

The franchise is looking for new gran applicants for a fresh four-year cycle. This is detailed more in an update posted on the team’s official website.
As the Green Bay Packers Foundation seeks to continue enhancing its charitable impact, the Foundation has announced it is launching a new four-year cycle for its annual grant program, with applications for 2026 annual grants open now until April 1.
The Packers Foundation’s annual grant program awards grants each year to hundreds of nonprofits in Wisconsin that support critical programs in their community and serve those in need. Last year, $1.5 million was donated to 395 civic and charitable groups in Wisconsin during the annual distribution of grants.
Nonprofits with a minimum two years of 501(c)(3) status and a Wisconsin location are invited to apply and encouraged to select the year in the cycle that best aligns with their program focus. The foundation emphasized that only organizations meeting established criteria will be considered.
Overall, the retooled grant calendar reflects a strategic effort to respond to growing community needs while maintaining rigorous review standards. The Packers’ move positions local charities to plan for targeted support and to leverage high‑profile fundraising events in the months ahead.

The new cycle marks an evolution in the foundation’s longtime community role, aiming to deliver more timely and effective assistance across Wisconsin. Nonprofits have until April 1 to submit applications for the 2026 funding year.
