The quarterback position is undoubtedly the most important position in football. The Green Bay Packers can consider themselves lucky to have such incredible and enviable luck when it comes to that front. From Bart Starr to Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, the Packers have enjoyed having a top quarterback running the show for the offense for a very long time.
Although it remains to be seen just how far Green Bay will go with Jordan Love, it’s safe to say that the young quarterback has shown more than flashes that he’s capable of being a long-term presence under center for the historic football franchise.

Former Chargers QB gives Packers their flowers

While speaking about his hope for Justin Herbert to have a lengthy career just like he did with his former team, Philip Rivers, who played 16 years for the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers, shared a short but meaningful take on the Packers’ penchant for finding the right QB.
“I think it’s awesome to say that I was able to be there for 16 years,” Rivers said (h/t MLFootball). “Hopefully, he [Herbert] can go another 16. I’ve always thought it was cool, you look at the [Green Bay] Packers. Doing it right. Not like [the Cleveland] Browns with 30 starters.”
While he probably did not mean to disrespect the Browns, Rivers’ mention of Cleveland just amplifies the Packers’ success in the QB position as compared to other franchises in the NFL.
Interestingly enough, Herbert and Love are both from the same 2020 NFL draft class. Herbert was taken sixth overall by the Chargers while Love was picked by the Packers at the No. 26 spot in the first round.
