Former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones rediscovered his form in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings. In his first season in Minnesota threads, Jones burned rubber for 1,138 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 255 carries to go along with 408 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 51 receptions and 62 targets.
He showed that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank even though he’s already past the prime age for running backs. Jones, a product of the UTEP football program, will be turning 30 years old in December, but despite that, the Vikings decided to reward him with a two-year contract extension $20 million last March.
The Packers did not really miss Jones much in 2024, as they replaced him by signing former Alabama Crimson Tide star Josh Jacobs, who also went on to have an explosive campaign for Green Bay. That being said, Jones is fondly remembered by Green Bay fans, having seen him don Packers colors for his first seven seasons in the NFL.

Ex-Green Bay Packers RB reacts to NFL Top 100 Players of 2025 inclusion

Jones was voted into the No. 98 spot on the NFL’s Top 100 Players list for the 2025 season. It was a very welcome development for Jones, particularly since his name wasn’t on the 2024 edition of the list.
“Back In The TOP 100 ! 📈🦹🏾♂️NOT SATISFIED JUST GLAD GAME RECOGNIZE GAME 🙏🏾💯,” Jones shared in a post on Instagram after learning of his rank.
Jones, who was a Pro Bowler in 2020, rushed for 5,940 yards and 45 touchdowns through 97 games for the Packers from 2017 to 2023.
