This Matt LaFleur Stat is Proof that the Packers Hired the Right Head Coach

When he was hired back in 2019 to be the new head coach of the Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleur was walking into a first-time situation with a lot of unknowns.

Now, as he enters his seventh season this year, he is one of the elite head coaches in the entire sport.

Matt LaFleur Has Won at a Very High Level

Despite not being able to win a Super Bowl just yet, LaFleur has demonstrated his ability to win with both older and younger teams.

In his first couple of seasons at the helm, he guided the Packers to three consecutive 13-win seasons, along with multiple NFC Championship Game appearances.

Those teams were comprised of veterans such as quarterback Aaron Rodgers, left tackle David Bakhtiari, wide receiver Davante Adams, tight end Marcedes Lewis, and other older players.

But more recently, LaFleur has shown that he can win with younger, more inexperienced players atop the depth chart.

Over the past two seasons, since the team parted ways with Aaron Rodgers in 2023, the Packers have had the youngest team in the NFL.

But thanks to the leadership of LaFleur, this team has proven that age is just a number, as it has made back-to-back playoff appearances and won 21 total games across the past two years.

In the past 11 seasons, among the teams that have been recognized as the youngest in the league each year, only these two Packers teams have had a winning record

Of course, the 2023 Packers were one of the youngest teams in NFL history and nearly ended up reaching the NFC Championship Game.

Green Bay Wants a Super Bowl

With franchise quarterback Jordan Love now settled into his role as the leader on offense and with the defense stepping up in big ways last year, this team feels like it is in a great position.

Even in what could be a very difficult NFC North this season, the Packers are poised to win plenty of games once again.

Now, it is time for LaFleur and Co. to go bring a championship back to the place that is referred to as “Titletown.”

This team has only been able to win one Super Bowl in almost the last 30 years, which isn’t exactly the standard of the organization.

LaFleur has become a winner in this league, but he now has to find a way to get his team over the hump and earn some hardware.
