Finishing last season with an 11-6 record and a lopsided loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card game left the Green Bay Packers and the “Cheeseheads” wanting more. It’s been fourteen years since the Packers hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy, and while the Aaron Rodgers era gave them numerous opportunities, they all fell short. With Jordan Love entering his third year as a full-time starting quarterback and various pieces in place, it looks like the Pack can be headed towards something special once again.

While the hype about Green Bay Packers rookies can be exactly that, just hype until proven otherwise, the incoming crew of eight first-year players could be exactly what is needed to help the team take the next step towards the mountain top.

2025 Green Bay Packers Rookie Predictions

Matthew Golden – Texas, Wide Receiver (1st / 23rd pick)

Javon Walker is no longer the answer to a Packers trivia question, as after twenty-three years, the team finally used a first-round draft pick to select a wide receiver. With the 23rd pick (ironic), the Packers drafted Matthew Golden, a young and exciting piece to their offence. The former Longhorn can flat out fly down the field, clocking a 4.29 / 40 at the NFL combine.

While he may have to play behind Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson, Golden’s speed should allow for plenty of reps, especially when the offense wants to go deep downfield.

2025 Season Prediction – 50 receptions, 650 yards, 4 touchdowns

Anthony Belton – NC State, Offensive Tackle (2nd / 54th pick)

Weighing in at 6’6”, 330lbs, Anthony Belton is a monster of a man who can help protect Jordan Love’s blind side. Although he is likely to have to wait to become a full-time starter, Belton’s ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line should find him plenty of reps, especially when coach Matt LaFleur wants to become creative offensively.

While Zach Tom and Rasheed Walker likely have the starting spots on lock, Belton’s mix of speed and strength should not see him on the sidelines for long.

2025 Season Prediction – 8 starts

Savion Williams – TCU, Wide Receiver (3rd / 87th pick)

Now, this is where Packers fans are used to seeing wide receivers being drafted. Doubling up on the same position, especially pass catchers, isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as Williams gives the Packers a different look than Golden.

Standing 6’5”, 210lbs with an impressive vertical, Williams gives the Packers a big-bodied receiver with big hands and long reach.  If Williams can find a way to be more consistent with the Packers than he was with the Horned Frogs, disappearing from time to time during key moments, he could find himself playing a significant bench role.

2025 Season Prediction – 20 receptions, 300 yards, 3 short-yardage touchdowns

Barryn Sorrell – Texas, EDGE (4th / 124th pick)

The second Longhorn to be added to the Packers roster, Barryn Sorrell was the first defensive rookie that Green Bay selected this year. Of his 15 ½ sacks and 25 ½ tackles for loss during his four seasons in Texas, 6 sacks and 11 tackles came during his senior year.

Although he doesn’t have overly impressive speed, Sorrell reads the play well and uses his hand and leverage to make the play.

2025 Season Prediction – 3 sacks, 27 tackles

Collin Oliver – Oklahoma State, Linebacker (5th / 159th pick)

The second straight pass rusher drafted by Green Bay. While he was mainly used as an EDGE with the Cowboys, it is assumed that Oliver will mainly be used off the ball with the Packers.

After three impressive seasons, which included an impressive 11.5 sacks in his rookie season and 130 tackles, Oliver’s senior season was cut short to just two games due to injury.

Assuming that he returns to full health by the time training camp ends, Oliver could find a role as a third-down hybrid defender. Undersized for a full-time linebacker, Oliver’s use of speed and instinct for the game made him a worthy gamble for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.

2025 Season Prediction – 4 tackles for loss, 2 sacks

Warren Brinson – Georgia, Defensive Tackle (6th / 198th pick)

A two-time CFP National Champion, Warren Brinson knows what it takes to be a winner, which should earn him multiple looks for the Packers this season. While he may have only started eight games for the Bulldogs, Brinson found a way to make an impact, especially in his final season, in which he tallied 26 tackles and a pair of sacks.

An explosive athlete, Brinson’s high motor and hand usage should find him contributing on a regular basis during the 2025 season.

2025 Season Prediction – One of the last picks for the final roster, 13 tackles, 1 sack

Micah Robinson – Tulane, Cornerback (7th / 237th pick)

Picks this late are similar to scratch & win tickets or one of many enticing Canadian sportsbook bonuses, while you may win once in a while, more often than not, it’s a throwaway. After four seasons with the Furman Paladins, Micah Robinson earned  All-American Athletic Conference Second Team honors during his one year with the Tulane Green Wave.

Regardless of where he played, Robinson showed that he could compete on either level and against various skill sets and abilities.

2025 Season Prediction – With the Packers’ depth at cornerback, odds are Robinson remains on the practice squad this season.

John Williams – Cincinnati, Offensive Tackle (7th / 250th pick)

Long, athletic, and versatile. Three traits that John Williams possesses that may help him crack the Packers’ 53-man roster. One day. With the ability to play right tackle, left tackle, and guard, Williams proved that he was more than up for the challenge during his college tenure and the Shrine Bowl when he was occasionally asked to play outside of his comfort zone.

2025 Season Prediction – Less of a chance to make the roster than Robinson, Williams will likely spend the entire season on the practice squad.
