The Green Bay Packers‘ receiving corps could be in a state of transition in 2025.
After all, Christian Watson’s availability remains uncertain after suffering a devastating knee injury in the season finale, while rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, each chosen in the top-100 picks who could make immediate impacts this season.
Adding potentially game-altering speed to Jordan Love’s supporting cast has the potential not just to boost the offense overall, but could create an opportunity for veteran Romeo Doubs to take on an expanded role.
Romeo Doubs Named Green Bay Packers’ Breakout Star to Watch

Over at Pro Football Focus, Jonathon Macri put together a list of every team’s breakout star to watch in 2025, including Romeo Doubs taking the next step for the Packers.
“Doubs has quietly put up more than 1,500 receiving yards over the past two seasons,” Macri writes of Doubs. “The second most among all Packers players, behind only Jayden Reed. He has also delivered a 75.0 PFF receiving grade, also ranking second on the team, behind only Reed, since 2023.
“Doubs’ ability to step up deep downfield and come down with contested catches has been crucial for Green Bay, as he not only leads the team in contested-catch rate over the past two seasons (58.7%) but also ranks 11th among 104 qualifying wide receivers over that span.”

With Golden’s arrival, and likely immediate ascent to the top fo the depth chart, Doubs could stand to benefit the most by the attention that safeties have to pay to the former Texas standout on the perimeter.
However, given that Love posted a 99.8 passer rating when targeting Doubs, combined with Doubs’ trajectory through his first three seasons, the 25-year-old could leverage the chemistry he’s built up with his quarterback and an improved receiving corps around him into his best season yet.
