After a seven-year run with the Green Bay Packers, cornerback Jaire Alexander’s time with the club is likely ending. Last month, reports surfaced that Green Bay is looking to part ways with the often-injured Alexander before the 2025 NFL Draft. Playing in just 14 games in the previous two seasons and with just two years remaining in his current four-year, $84 million deal, the Packers are open to dealing the two-time All-Pro for the right price. Meanwhile, another multi-time Pro-Bowler in New York is on the cutting block just one month after the Super Bowl.
On Sunday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the New York Jets are taking calls regarding star wide receiver and former Green Bay Packers legend Davante Adams. With a $38.2 million cap number, the Jets could also release Adams, putting the likely future Hall of Famer on the open market. With Alexander on the block and Adams up for grabs, one Green Bay insider believes the two teams should make a player swap.
Green Bay Packers Insider Wants Alexander-Adams Swap

According to Locked On Packers host Peter Bukowski on Ian Rapoport’s Devante Adams tweet:
This is why you call. Everyone knows the Jets have to cut him, but you may lose out if they do, and you’re not a Rodgers team.
Jaire for Adams. Call it in.
With superstar pass catcher Davante Adams likely leaving the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers insider Peter Bukowski believes the NFC North franchise should trade for him before he potentially hits the open market. With their own Jaire Alexander at the center of trade talks, Bukowski believes both teams would benefit from a player swap. Alexander, entering his 28-year-old season, could benefit from a fresh start following back-to-back injured campaigns. Meanwhile, Adams earned five straight Pro Bowl nods with Green Bay from 2017 to 2021.
In his final season with Green Bay, Adams posted 123 receptions, 1,516 yards, and 14 touchdowns, earning his second of three straight All-Pros. More notably, the Packers have not had a 1,000-yard receiver since Adams’ departure despite using multiple second-round picks on pass catchers (Christian Watson and Jayden Reed).
Packers WR Room

A reunion with pass-catcher Davanta Adams would give the Green Bay Packers a Pro Bowler in their wide receiver room. Last season, 24-year-old Jayden Reed led the team with 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns. Christian Watson (620 yards) and Romeo Doubs (601 yards) were the only wideouts with at least 500 receiving yards. Despite a young, albeit deep and talented, expansive receiver room, quarterback Jordan Love threw for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
