Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not yet decided if he wants to play in the NFL again in 2025. At 41 years old, he is wisely weighing whether or not he wants to put his aging body through the rigors of another campaign.

But even if he does choose to play again in 2025, his options are limited. As things stand right now, just the Pittsburgh Steelers remain as a team with any reported interest of signing him. And despite the fact that he met with team officials at their facility for six hours last week, no decision has been made.

While his contemplating retirement may be part of the reason for the delay, he also may be waiting on a phone call from one of his former rivals.

There Is a World in Which Former Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Joins the Minnesota Vikings

Earlier this offseason, there were reports that the Minnesota Vikings were the team with whom Rodgers most wanted to play in 2025. However, the Vikings informed him that their plan was to go into the spring and, perhaps, the season with JJ McCarthy as their starter.

However, NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic has informed fans that they should not count Minnesota out as a potential Rodgers destination:

“There’s a world” @Vikings fans will have to “come to grips” with Aaron Rodgers joining Minnesota 👀

“I do think there’s a world, and I know Vikings fans don’t want to see it, right? Whether it’s their hate for Aaron Rodgers, whether it’s they feel that JJ’s not getting a fair… pic.twitter.com/WCusmeEjng

“I do think there’s a world, and I know Vikings fans don’t want to see it, right? Whether it’s their hate for Aaron Rodgers, whether it’s they feel that JJ’s not getting a fair shake, whatever the reason is for why some Vikings fans don’t want to see Aaron Rodgers, they have to come to grips. There is a world that exists this year where Aaron Rodgers hangs out and the Minnesota Vikings pick up the phone and they make the call.”

In other words, there is a chance OTA’s start and Minnesota realizes that McCarthy is not ready to be a starting quarterback, especially after missing his entire rookie season with a torn ACL.

If that happens, and if Rodgers has not signed with Pittsburgh, they may pick up the phone and give him a call, a call he almost certainly would be happy to accept.

That is, of course, if they use Face Time.
