Well folks, here we are. Week 10, the bye week, and time to take a breather and assess where we stand. And you know what’s at the top of my mind? Josh Jacobs. That man has been a revelation.
Remember back when we traded for him? Some folks were scratching their heads. “Giving up that much for a running back?” they’d say. Well, I’ll tell ya, those folks ain’t scratching their heads no more.
Looking Back on the Josh Jacobs Trade
Now that a lot of fans are dragging Packers GM Brian Gutekunst for the recent Preston Smith trade, despite his own request for it, I thought we should reflect on a more positive recent move.
Jacobs has been everything we could’ve hoped for and more. Not too shabby, eh? He’s top 3 in the league in rushing, and that’s with missing some time! Remember that ankle injury scare a few weeks back? Had me sweating bullets, I tell ya. But the man’s tough, played through it like a champ.
The NFL's top three leading rushers:

▪️ Derrick Henry: 1,052 yards
▪️ Saquon Barkley: 925 yards
▪️ Josh Jacobs: 762 yards
Notice anything in common?
They were all free agents and got signed by teams who valued them.

It ain’t just the numbers. He’s brought a real fire to this offense. A workhorse mentality. Reminds me of a young Ahman Green, the way he just keeps churning those legs. Gives our young quarterback, Jordan Love, a real safety valve.
Now, with Dillon and Lloyd on IR, Jacobs has been carrying the load for us. But even when those guys get healthy, I don’t see how you take the ball out of Jacobs’ hands. He’s earned it. He’s our guy.
So, yeah, I’d say that trade for Josh Jacobs is looking pretty darn good right about now. He’s given us a real identity on offense, and that’s something we’ve been missing. Here’s hoping he gets some well-deserved rest this bye week, because we’re gonna need him firing on all cylinders come Week 11 against those Bears.
Josh Jacobs: Fantasy Football Considerations
While that Week 9 game against the Lions was rough, savvy fantasy managers should be looking to buy low on Jacobs right now. He’s coming off a bye, rested and ready to dominate down the stretch. Don’t overreact to one bad game!
Remember, this is a guy who was putting up 90+ yards consistently before that. He’s a volume monster with a nose for the endzone, and he’s got a juicy playoff schedule with matchups against the Saints and Seahawks.
If you can snag him for a reasonable price (think a mid-tier WR like DeVonta Smith or Zay Flowers), pull the trigger! You’ll be thanking me later when he’s carrying your team to a fantasy championship.
