I’ve always been fascinated by the Green Bay Packers. It’s not just that they’re a legendary football team – it’s that they’re owned by the fans, by the people of Green Bay! I remember my grandpa taking me to a shareholder meeting when I was a kid, and I was just blown away by the sense of community.

Everyone there, from seasoned veterans to wide-eyed kids like me, had this shared passion for the Pack. It felt like being part of something truly special, a tradition that stretched back generations.

That’s what makes the Packers different. It’s not just about winning (though that’s definitely important!), it’s about the connection between the team and the fans. It’s about the history, the legacy, and the unwavering support that makes Green Bay and the Packers unique in the world of sports.

Kind of like an old friend makes you feel secure and trustworthy, the Packers give me that same feeling of reliability and tradition. You know they’re always going to be there, representing the best of the sport and the community.

How the Voting Works

Packers Shareholders: Anyone can become a Packers shareholder by purchasing shares during one of the team’s rare stock sales. However, these shares are more like memorabilia than traditional stock. They don’t pay dividends, can’t be traded, and offer no financial benefits.

Voting Rights: The main perk of owning Packers stock is the right to vote at the annual shareholders’ meeting. Shareholders elect the team’s Board of Directors, who then appoint an Executive Committee to handle day-to-day operations.

Board of Directors: The Green Bay Packers Board of Directors is a 45-member body elected by shareholders. They are responsible for setting the organization’s strategic direction, approving major financial decisions, and appointing the Executive Committee. The Board represents diverse professional backgrounds and ensures compliance with NFL regulations.

Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is a seven-member group responsible for the day-to-day management of the Packers. Appointed by and reporting to the Board, they oversee football operations, manage finances and business operations, and make decisions on personnel matters. Their collaboration with the Board ensures the Packers remain a well-managed and competitive franchise.

Green Bay Packers Main Front Office Staff

Mark Murphy: President and CEO. Murphy is a former NFL player and has been with the Packers since 2007. He is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the team.

Brian Gutekunst: General Manager. Gutekunst oversees all aspects of the Packers’ football operations, including player personnel, scouting, and the NFL draft.

Russ Ball: Executive Vice President/Director of Football Operations. Ball is responsible for managing the Packers’ salary cap, negotiating contracts, and overseeing football administration.

Matt LaFleur: Head Coach. LaFleur is responsible for coaching the team on the field, developing game plans, and leading practices.
