Looking to fill the void left by injury prone David Bakhtiari, the Green Bay Packers have selected offensive tackle from Arizona, Jordan Morgan, as their first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Packers will have two picks for round 2, including one that they obtained from the Jets.
Morgan (6-5, 311) started 37 games at left tackle in his college career, including 33 in the last three seasons. He made an impressive recovery from a torn ACL toward the end of the 2022 season to start 12 games at left tackle in 2023 and earn first-team All-Pac-12 Conference honors.
Last season, he allowed just two sacks in 787 snaps, according to the school’s statistics. A standout athlete, he clocked a 5.04-second 40-yard dash at 311 pounds at the scouting combine, along with a 28-inch vertical jump.
Draft analysts project Morgan to have the ability to play tackle or guard in the NFL.

I know many Packer fans wanted Cooper DeJean but this pick makes a ton of sense. You’re about to invest 150 million or more in Jordan Love. You want your investment well protected. You’ve lost Bakhtiari, Nijman, and Runyan. So you need depth. We won 9 games with below average safety play last year. It can wait. DeJean is still on the board.
It’s now being reported that the Arizona Cardinals were trying to trade up to draft Jordan Morgan. While the Dallas Cowboys traded back from the 24th pick thinking they could still get Jordan Morgan at 29. Instead selecting Tyler Guyton with Morgan off the board. This suggests Jordan Morgan was a higher rated prospect than Cooper DeJean on multiple draft boards. With OT a more premium position than safety.
