I know Jerry Kramer’s parents were very proud of Jerry for his performance in the 1962 season championship season.
With all the specialists in todays game, the Packers used Paul Hornung and Jerry Kramer as their place kickers during the season.
In the championship game with the challenging weather conditions, Jerry Kramer kicked three field goals and an extra point. Kramer the Packers Hall of Fame guard accounted for 10 points in the Packers 9 point win over the Giants. The field goals were from short range, but with the conditions the way they were the Packer’s hall of fame guard provided the winning point margin in the championship game.
Jerry’s parents would speak very fondly of that game and performance.
Jerry Kramer’s book, “Instant Replay” was probably the first paperback I read cover to cover as a kid. I found it so fascinating. It made me feel like I was in training camp, in the locker room, in game situations, getting chewed out by Lombardi. Great stuff!!
