Trash talking among the NFC North is not uncommon. However, Bears QB Justin Fields took a low blow at Green Bay when interacting with reporters recently:
I know their fans are gonna be loud, cause there is not much else to do in Green Bay except watch football.

OK, here’s the thing. First of all, unlike the Bears, Packers fandom is a worldwide affair. That’s just something he can’t understand. Second of all, what makes this such a piss-ant comment is that he is taking one of the Green Bay Packers’ greatest strengths and trying to make it sound like a weakness.
Let’s compare violate crime rates between Green Bay and Chicago. Wow, no wonder Bears fans suck — there’s nothing to do in Chicago but dodge stray bullets.
A Closer Look at Justin Fields
Anyways, let’s talk about our man Justin.
A Bears record was smashed this year, but not by our friend Justin. It was Jordan Love who, with a young and wildly inexperienced corp and battered roster, has topped the single season TD stats of any Bears QB in history.
People love good football. Unlike the Bears, the Packers consistently put together a competitive and entertaining team for decades now.
Fields has several reasons to do well at Lambeau on Sunday, one of which is his future paychecks and where he’ll even be playing in the future. He is currently a very valuable bargaining chip for Chicago going into the near future.

Well, technically Fields isn’t wrong. You will not find anything better to do in Green Bay on gameday than going to Lambeau Field. In Chicago, I’m not so sure you can say the same about Soldier Field. The Bears aren’t even the best team in their own city.

The thing that impresses me most about Love is how calm his demeanor is. I don’t ever remember seeing a Packers QB so emotionally stable week after week. Have yet to see the guy stressing, even when he wasn’t playing the best he has been very grounded and levelheaded. Like nothing seems to phase the man. I don’t think that can be taught, and that is a wonderful trait to have. That’s probably the biggest reason these young receivers and tight ends are all coming into their own at this point in the season.
Here’s hoping he can take the comments Fields made and turn them into motivation. Use said motivation to decimate the Bears. I’m talking like 61-7 (hello 1980!) without displaying any defiance or extra emotion/verbal sparring. Make it look like just another day at the office and let the Bears know without saying it they might not be hitting 100 wins against the Packers anytime soon. 6 wins doesn’t seem like much to overcome. Maybe in another 30 years if we should be so lucky.
If you recall, the Bears were talking trash in the season opener. How’d that turn out? It’ll be interesting to see if Jordan Love can do what Aaron Rodgers rarely did. Win a playoff game which is what this is. The pressure is all on Justin Fields. If he doesn’t show up and out play Love, his career in Chicago is over. He has gotten marginally better this year, but after three seasons as a starter this could be as good as it gets. I’d draft Caleb Williams or Drake Maye and take a second or a third round pick for Fields. But knowing Chicago, they’ll find away to screw this up.
Not sure how the Bears can cover everyone if Watson, Wicks, Reed, and Musgrave are back. Throw in Doubs, Kraft and Melton and Chicago doesn’t have enough corners to cover. Especially with their best CB out. Meanwhile, you put Alexander on DJ Moore and that pretty much limits what they can do offensively. Sure, Fields might break off a few runs. But can he win a shoot out against Jordan Love? I like our chances.
I like the comment that if the Bears win they’ll sign Justin Fields to a long term contract. Beat the Bears or not, the Packers win either way
