Including a couple stints on the Packers coaching staff, Getsy was most recently with the Packers as a quarterbacks coach under Matt LaFleur until joining the Chicago Bears in 2022. Hoping for any single grasp of the QB magic Holy Land that is Green Bay, Getsy did not seem to impress the Bears in the end.
Seems like more of a scapegoat to me, given the offensive personnel Getsy was working with. Instead of looking at Justin Fields, most Bears fans see Getsy as an easy target for yet another failed season.
Along with Getsy, all members of his staff will also be departing. It’s a Getsy-detox, if you will.
Just a witch hunt for an anemic offense that is led by a clown QB. The problem with scapegoating is the underlining issue remains in place.
Chicago is going to screw this up. It can’t be made any easier for them. They can’t beat the Packers but they could at least steal a page out of their playbook. They need to fire Eberflus, trade Justin Fields, and draft either Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. Hire an offensive coach and develop their young QB.
Getsy isn’t a bad coach. You’re not going to find anyone that’s any better because Eberflus gets fired next year and everyone is unemployed. Not only that, Justin Fields has had three years as a starter. You pretty much are what you are after starting for three years. Is he really going to get that much better? There was absolutely no question that Jordan Love was the better QB on Sunday and he’s had less than half as many starts as Fields.
Fields only chance is to go somewhere else. It doesn’t matter what the locker room wants. You start letting players make decisions about the roster, you end up looking like the New York Jets. But that’s not Aaron Rodgers fault, right Kevin?
Hmmm….
I can recall, not along ago, a reader in here proclaiming that Justin Fields was a franchise QB.
I can’t recall who that was, but i believe he answers to….Nancy, Gomer, Goober, lettuce head and most accurately…FLIP FLOP
As always
TVOR
Lol. I remember
Justin Fields has trade value Kevin. You don’t give away a second or third round pick on a draft bust which is currently his reported value on the open market. Fields has big play potential. But can read defenses quickly enough to be consistent? Jordan Love was light years ahead of Fields on Sunday with a fraction of starts under his belt by comparison. Justin Fields will constantly be compared now to Jordan Love.
The question you have to ask yourself is this. Is Justin Fields the product of a bad environment in Chicago? Or is this as good as he gets? Chicago is in a unique situation. Stick with Fields or reset the clock with Williams or Maye. If I’m Chicago I reset the clock. If I’m Atlanta or Las Vegas I roll the dice on Fields. Getting the hell out of Chicago could be the best thing that ever happened to Justin Fields.
Lol…NO,NO,NO silly woman!!
The question YOU have to ask YOURSELF is this….
Why do you call Fields a franchise QB, then turn around and say the Bears ‘need’ to trade Fields, and draft a new QB high.
If the Bears already have a franchise QB, then why………
See where i’m going with this Goober?

But i guess i understand, because those statements are from the same lettuce head that told us Love isn’t the answer, and that the Packers needed to tank the season and get a new franchise QB…..remember that sweetheart?
