How much fun was that Packer fans! Green Bay showed up against the defending Super Bowl Champions, holding on to win a classic Sunday night national audience game. Matt LaFleur extended his undefeated streak in December by coming up with an excellent game plan that kept the Chief’s defense off balance all night. The Packer misdirection continued to open up the field for running plays by A.J. Dillon and passes to every receiver.

Coming out strong, Jordan Love got his revenge on K.C. by starting hot and playing smart. The Packers first two possessions were both 75-yard drives that found the end zone. The first play saw Jayden Reed take a misdirection for 9 yards. Then Love hit Watson for 19.

Love was perfect on his seven passes, hitting backup tight end Ben Sims for the touchdown. Love threw his first incompletion during the next drive but came up big with throws of 27 yards to Dontayvion Wicks and another touchdown, this time to Christian Watson.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Preston Smith (91) celebrates sacking Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) during their football game Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin.

The defense struggled against the run for most of the game but came up big when it counted. They sacked Patrick Mahomes twice to end the Chiefs first drive with a field goal and then held them out of the end zone on their second drive. Those two stops gave the Green and Gold a 14-6 lead at halftime.

In the second half the Chiefs found the end zone but so did Green Bay. The Packers scored in every quarter and the defense came up big in the second half when Keisean Nixon intercepted Mahomes.

Then the offense helped seal the game with a drive that ended with a field goal that took precious minutes off the clock and gave the home team an 8-point lead. Kudos to Anders Carlson who picked a great night to be perfect. Carlson made a clutch 40 yarder with six minutes left and then completed the Packers 4th quarter scoring hitting a 48 yarder with just over a minute left. He also made every extra point.

Mahomes had over a minute left to pull out another miracle…and then the game got crazy. First, Packer fans went nuts when the refs called a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on Jonathan Owens for hitting Mahomes when the replay clearly showed the quarterback was still in bounds. Then euphoria broke out during a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Corey Ballentine.

But the refs appropriately called that back. During that play the Chiefs Isaiah Pacheco threw a haymaker at Keisean Nixon prompting a 15-yard penalty and an ejection.

So, the Chiefs are now back at the 50 with fifty seconds left. But we are not done, not even close. Mahomes then threw a bomb to former Packer MVS. Carrington Valentine made a play on the ball as he went over and through the back of MVS. No flag. K.C. Fans go nuts.

Mahomes then throws the next ball deep into the end zone, seemingly a possible interception opportunity but Savage is coming in and it goes over his head.

The final Chiefs play is a Hail Mary on 4th down with 5 seconds left. The ball goes up. A mass of bodies crash together in the end zone. The ball drops on the ground. Packers win. Then the NBC team takes ten minutes explaining why the Chiefs should have been bailed out by the refs for a push in the back by Owens.

End result: A Great Packer win. With a Packer offense that put more points up against Kansas City than any other team this year.

If there is any Packer fan who predicted this night 6 weeks ago, I would like to buy them dinner. Make no mistake, the coaches are coaching this young team, and the players are responding. The Packers are now 6-6 on the year and face what pundits would call a favorable schedule.

Green Bay is playing Monday Night Football in New York against the Giants next week. They will probably not have Christian Watson as his hamstring pull looked serious. But they have momentum and confidence. Fingers crossed.

Packers playoff odds depending on results the rest of the season per NYT:

5-0: 100%
4-1: 99%
3-2: 80%-95% (worst is lose to Bucs/Vikings, best is lose to Giants/Bears)
2-3: 14%-42% (worst is lose to Giants/Bucs/Vikings, best is lose to Giants/Panthers/Bears)
1-4: <1%
0-5: 0%

We just need to fire everyone and start over. Right ladies? Sure we’ve had a few lucky wins but everyone knows Brian Gutekunst is incompetent and Mark Murphy is in over his head. Why draft a young, promising franchise QB when you can have an old, washed up, nut job playing QB and making personnel moves for your team. Why bother drafting Watson, Doubs, Reed, and Wicks when you can have Randall Cobb and Allan Lazard to scare the death out of opposing secondaries.

No one has anything to say now because they were all wrong. I don’t know what the rest of you saw. But I saw a young, talented, QB that wanted to show KC he wasn’t the same QB they faced two years ago. I saw a QB that played toe to toe with one of the best QB’s of our current generation, Patrick Mahomes. You ladies listen to meathead Pat McAfee. He’ll tell ya, “Gutekunst doesn’t know what he’s doing!” Never trust a punter that always wears a tank top. Yes Pat, we know you take steroids and work out….

    • Cheese on December 4, 2023 2:50 pm

Oh shut up Flip Flop. This is coming from the guy who just a few weeks ago was claiming that the Packers should tank the rest of the season so they could be in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. Now you’re puffing out your chest pretending like you you knew this going to happen all along and that you had Love’s the entire time.

Where’s that muppet PF4L whining about Gutey now? I got the Total TMZ Packers comments to prove it.

  4. Tom M on December 4, 2023 6:30 pm

Why Cheese, how kind of you to take time away from you and Pat pumping iron together and injecting steroids into each other’s ass and join us. I bet you’re wearing matching tank tops right now. And why not? It’s only December! Never too cold to wear a tank top! Especially when your podcast is 99.9% male! Nothing homoerotic about that Pat! Ya know Cheese, Pat gets all his inside info about Brian Gutekunst from little Erin himself. And if you don’t treat little Erin like a princess, you’re just not a good person. You all heard the story on this, right? Pat talked crap about Gutekunst and Aaron Nagler question his stupidity in the nicest way. Then Pretty Pat called Nagler a 50 year old weirdo. Not very creative, but that Pat McAfee for you. Dumber than dirt.

    • Cheese on December 5, 2023 6:27 pm

Wow. Congratulations, Tom. Your response has absolutely nothing to do with what I commented on. Is that because you know you’re a clueless flip flopper that has no ground to stand on so you just pretend it never happened? Talk about deflecting. Instead of a competent rebuttal, you go off on some irrelevant tangent about how McAfee and I lift weights together and take steroids in the ass. Stunning…

Packers have 5 very winnable games left. Only prob game I see is at Minn. They dont slip up they’ll be in Play-Offs 11-6 10-7 at worst.
Get some revenge on Butterbean Dabol this week !! I remember his antics when they won in London last yr…FAT SLOB

  6. Deepsky on December 5, 2023 12:39 pm

For 5 games in a row this season, Love had a 66 QB rating on average. For the last 5 games, he has had a 106 QB rating. His accuracy looks much better to me….and suddenly the offensive line is better, the receivers are making catches, the team gets out ahead and the defense looks better as they can pass rush. Love himself said he’s not trying to throw super accurately now like he had been. My theory is that he side arms throws and they tried to get him away from that and the result was him overthinking his throws and his accuracy dropping. Hopefully he keeps things up. At this point, the Packers need to build a team around him.

Also, I was reading a Bears forum where some Bears fan during the Packers/Chiefs game simply posted “God is not real”. I got a kick out that, those Godless Bears fans

  7. Tom M on December 6, 2023 7:31 am

You always have to have a backup plan Cheese. Always. While you and the girls wanted to fire everyone, which is a knee jerk, emotional response. I was trying to formulate a plan to procure a blue chip QB prospect in next years draft. Because as I’ve said many times before you’re nothing in the NFL without a franchise QB. Gutekunst said at the trade deadline that Jordan Love’s next 10 games will dictate how we approach the draft. Playing for his football life, Jordan Love has responded accordingly. Good for him. All of us should be happy about this. The future looks bright.

    • Cheese on December 6, 2023 8:36 pm

“I was trying to formulate a plan to procure a blue chip QB prospect in next years draft.”
Lol, Coach Flip Flop has a plan. Instead of giving the guy who you’ve spent the past three years developing a decent chance to prove himself with WR’s that actually have experience, let’s purposely tank the rest of the season to try and get the #1 pick to select a QB that already has a bigger ego than anyone in the NFL. Brilliant! Talk about a knee jerk and emotional response. I don’t know why every owner in the NFL wouldn’t want to hire you.

Then when the team turns itself around you can brag to all the “girls” about how you knew this was gonna happen. Except this never would have happened with Coach Flip Flop in charge because he’d be busy tanking the rest of the season right now.

      • Tom M on December 7, 2023 11:21 am

There’s three approaches you can take here Cheese. There’s the let’s fire everyone approach. The let’s pretend it will all go away approach and everything is fine. And then there’s the we’ve got a problem, how do we fix it approach.

Now you and the girls clearly don’t like Gutekunst or Murphy and you’re constantly looking for any excuse to fire both. That’s always been your answer to everything. I, on the other hand, acknowledged the problem and said as much. I said, Jordan Love’s career won’t last long if he can’t be consistent. Hardly earth shattering. And if Jordan Love isn’t the answer, then how do we fix the problem. Because unlike the rest of you, I see talent everywhere on this roster. They just needed a QB. Jordan Love gets better every week. He’s comfortable in the pocket, throwing dimes. He knows what looks he’s getting from defenses and he’s not afraid to change plays at the line of scrimmage. It’s fun to watch. And with all these young skill players the sky’s the limit.

This team, the team that Brian Gutekunst built, just beat the world champs, and the week before they beat one of the three best teams in the NFC. And Aaron Rodgers had absolutely nothing to do with it. But more importantly we don’t have to make excuses. We can all have fun and enjoy it….

I fear Piffle has passed from this mortal realm. I have no actual info other than lack of info from Piffle. But this site was his life. Maybe he is only hospitalized and will bounce back. I did not like him but I never wished him any actual ill.

In his honor, whenever someone is mean and bullying on this site, we will call it “Piffling.” As in, “Damn, man, don’t you be piffling on me now!” “You’re piffling all over the place!” “Oh yeah? Well, you are a Piffle! So there!”

      • Deepsky on December 7, 2023 7:11 am

It happens. Back in the 90s I spent a lot of time in the Packers Usenet group (later Google Groups). There was a certain Cowboys fan who trolled the Packers group several times a day and continually got into it with Packers fans. It was like his life’s work. One day he stopped posting and because he used his real name, some one figured out he had a heart attack and died.

        • Cheese on December 9, 2023 12:01 pm

Lol, PF4L is alive. He still comments down the hall. He probably just got tired of the obvious, just like the rest of us, and needed a hiatus.

Kevin will be back quoting Jordan Love’s stats and saying we should have traded Rodgers years ago. Pretending nothing ever happened. Rodgers and his entourage of washed up NFL players turned the Jets into a dumpster fire. While Gutekunst and his youth movement is paying off. It really was time to move on. With his belief system in shambles, Kevin needs time to come to terms with that. He’ll come back, take his medicine, then we’ll move on….

  10. Cheese on December 9, 2023 12:55 pm

“Kevin will be back quoting Jordan Love’s stats and saying we should have traded Rodgers years ago.”
PF4L did say that the Packers should have traded Rodgers after they got rid of Adams, had no top WR’s, and had a first round QB sitting on the bench for two years. Rodgers was fresh off of two league MVP’s and they could have gotten a kings ransom for him. Love would currently have another year of starting under his belt right. Instead, Gute gave Rodgers the biggest contract in the league and now the Packers have a giant dead money hit they have to deal with. Given the situation, it didn’t make any sense to keep Rodgers around no matter how much you liked him as a player. Yet, the front office chose to anyway.
    .
“Rodgers and his entourage of washed up NFL players turned the Jets into a dumpster fire.”
Rodgers didn’t turn the Jets into anything. They have been a dumpster fire on their own for decades. You could say it was the curse of the Jets that took out Rodgers’ achilles in the same exact fashion that happened to Testaverde.
    .
“It really was time to move on.”
So you’re saying PF4L was right in 2022? Or are you siding with Gutekunst and saying that keeping Rodgers for another year and trading him in 23′ was in the best interest of the Packers???

    • Kato on December 11, 2023 9:25 am

Are you expecting a straight consice answer? Or a rambling incoherent word salad that means nothing?

      • Empacador on December 11, 2023 1:47 pm

Expecting concise but served word salad?

      • Cheese on December 11, 2023 9:31 pm

Definitely not expecting a straight concise answer. I expect him to dodge the question all together which is what he does when you grill him on his BS. After that, a rambling incoherent word salad takes a close second.

Maybe Tom’s head exploded from that catch 22 of having to choose between saying PF4L was right or King Gutekunst was wrong.
