Green Bay Packers, now led by quarterback Jordan Love, are set to face off against the Chicago Bears and their established QB, Justin Fields, in the season opener. With new leadership under center for the Packers, this game could be a pivotal moment to set the tone for the rest of the season.
The Bears are slightly favored by 1.5 points, according to bookmakers, making this NFC North clash one to watch for seasoned fans.
- Jordan Love (Packers): In the 2022 season, Love had limited opportunities but showed promise. His performance in this opening game will be a significant indicator of what to expect this season.
- Justin Fields (Bears): Fields had a noteworthy 2022 season with 2242 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He will look to build on that success in this opening game.
- Packers
- Offense: Last season, they averaged 21.8 points per game with a balanced attack, featuring 213.6 passing yards and 124.3 rushing yards.
- Defense: The Packers’ defense was relatively solid but had room for improvement, especially against the run.
- Bears
- Offense: The Bears struggled defensively last season, allowing an average of 27.2 points per game.
- Defense: Their pass defense allowed 218.6 yards, and their rush defense allowed 157.3 yards per game.
Packers/Bears Betting Odds
- Odds: The Bears are slightly favored by 1.5 points, indicating that the bookmakers see this as a close contest.
- Over/Under: The over/under is set at 41.5, suggesting that a moderate-scoring game is expected.
The opening game of the season features the Packers, led by Jordan Love, against the Bears, led by Justin Fields. While the Bears are slightly favored according to betting odds, both teams have their strengths and weaknesses based on their 2022 performance. This NFC North battle is expected to be a closely contested affair.
Key players like Packers’ running back Aaron Jones and defensive lineman Kenny Clark will be crucial in setting the game’s tempo. On the Bears’ side, wide receiver Allen Robinson and safety Eddie Jackson will have pivotal roles.
Aaron Jones will be counted on to provide a balanced offensive attack for the Packers, while Kenny Clark will be key in disrupting the Bears’ offensive line. Allen Robinson will be a go-to target for Justin Fields, and Eddie Jackson’s performance in the secondary will be vital in containing Jordan Love’s aerial assault. These individual matchups add another layer of complexity and excitement to this NFC North season opener.

I’m really hoping I’m wrong, but I think Love will throw 3 INTS and 1 TD.
I might have been slightly off. Lol
Well ladies, we may have ourselves a QB after all. When was the last time Aaron Rodgers threw for 250 yards and three TD’s? A year year and a half, two years ago? But he’s the “best QB ever!” You didn’t hear Jordan Love cry like a little bitch because he didn’t have arguably his best WR In Christian Watson today. I sure wish I could say Romeo Doubs is good, but I’m gonna need about 5 more years, right Kevin?
“Gute’s fuck ups,” formally known as the Green Bay Packers had the best QB, the best skilled players, the best OL, the best DL, the best secondary, the best special teams on the field today in Chicago. How is that possible you ask? Because we have an excellent, underrated GM that prepared this team for the enviable day that Aaron Rodgers would no long be the QB. And instead of you guys being happy about that you’re all pissed off. No one that posts here is happy for this team’s success. How could you all have gotten it so wrong? I’ve got a few ideas on that. But I’m sure you don’t want to hear them….
Our long Rodgers nightmare is finally over. So glad to follow the Packers again. Even if we end the season with five wins, I was so sick of the Rodgers shit.
Yes, that Rodgers nightmare is over, i can be a Packer fan again.
Damn Ted Thompson (RIP) for drafting him.
Realistically, it is the Bears. But this was a very good start to the season. As far as the Bears are concerned, this would have been their best chance at beating the Packers. With home field advantage against a relatively new and young team and they are still – da Bears. The points gurus had the Bears as the advantage team by about 1.5 and an O/U of about 41.5. Yeah, how bout that.

As far as the defense was concerned it looked like they needed to clean up the tackling a bit in the first half. Fields deserves credit for being as slippery as he is on the run but there were a bunch of plays in the first half where GB needed to wrap up and tackle better on everyone. Seems like they did get better in the second half.

The offense still has some coming together to do but this was a great way to start the season for Love and company. Young receivers need to learn to come back to the ball, need to hands catch, need to run the routes correctly, and need not fall down after catching a ball when nobody is within 15 yards (looking your way Musgrave). There’s some gelling and refinement that will certainly need to happen in the weeks ahead for sure. It was good to start with the Bears.

I did not find myself holding my breath for Anders Carlson. The long field goal was right down the middle and the PATs were all square. Maybe Rich B is really the Special Teams whisperer.

After the last few years of seeing GB come out flat and unprepared for game one, this game was fun. But again, this was the Bears. Pretty happy as a Packer fan this week.
Jason gets it. Unsurprisingly Kevin does not. Aaron Rodgers greatest asset, his knowledge of the game, also became his greatest liability. His constant browbeating on how smart and superior he was to coaches, players, front office personnel, and fans alike became off putting to everyone except his most ardent fanboys. Most of which post here and aren’t smart enough to know better. And when Rodgers fell short of expectations as he always did, it was always someone else’s fault. Never taking responsibility for anything. His few remaining fanboys hanging on every word. Blaming everyone from Brian Gutekunst to Kevin King for his failures. The Stephen Hawking of football, Rodgers is not.
Because you’re not smart enough to see it Kevin, yesterday’s game showed us we don’t need Aaron Rodgers to win. We can do just fine without him. It showed us Kevin, that a well run organization with talented players and coaches doesn’t have the limitations of a team with an egotistical, narcissistic, veteran QB. Yesterday it became fun to be a Packer fan again. Well, for most of us anyway….
Drop dead.
It’s the Bears. It’s not just the Bears, but a historically bad Bears team. Last season they had the worst defense in the league and near the worst in offense. There were several times during the game I thought, if this wasn’t the Bears, this play would not have ended in the Packers favor. Love sat back and had all day to pass, he won’t get that with any other team. All we can say for sure is that Love and the Packers are better than the worst team in football. You can’t compare Rodgers or Favre’s first performance because the Bears were a better team then. All this being said, I’m happy that the Packers probably won’t be terrible this season.
Be careful Kevin. You start praising players and you’re indirectly praising the man who drafted, developed and signed those players. Brian Gutekunst, the worst GM in all of football, right Ed? Ed is our latest Aaron Rodgers groupie. Let me guess, Ed’s probably into right wing conspiracies theories and has been “immunized” just like Erin.
Say what you want about the Bears but they were favored to win. Supposedly had the better QB and the better roster. Because your girls kept telling each other Jordan Love can’t play and Brian Gutekunst is incompetent. Keep it up. No reason to let reality get in the way of your fantasy.
How many games do you think the Bears will be favored from this point on. They were favored because of the unknowns for both teams. It’s the first game of the season so no one really knows. The Bears are a really crappy team just as I and many others suspected.
Arch, you, Kevin and the rest of the ladies told us we would return to the 70’s and 80’s without your beloved Aaron Rodgers. How’s that looking after week one? You’ll understand then why I’m not buying your bold prediction that Chicago won’t be any good. Was Chicago really that bad or were the Packers really that good? It’s hard to say but I think they’ll be better than last years team. How much better depends of Justin Fields. It’s now make or break with him.
Precious…i don’t have to be careful, or make up lies, to cover for other lies.
I call it like i see it, good or bad.
Like Rodgers, that rubs you the wrong way .
Probably the only time you’ve been rubbed in years.
Then you have hissy fits, followed up by your fairy tales.
Then you retreat to go pout, until the Packers beat a bottom feeder team, then you come out like a tough guy……as i predicted.

Stay tuned after the Bear game, when Tommi gets done pouting, and puffs out his chest because the Packers beat the 3-14 Bears and their 27th ranked defense and 28th ranked offense.
That didn’t take long. With a 39 year old QB and a 38 year old LT playing on artificial turf what could possibly go wrong? The X-rays on Rodgers left ankle were negative but they’re now fearing an Achilles injury which will require an MRI. If so, Rodgers season and quite possibly his career is now over. I’m surprised he didn’t just rub a little ivermectin on that ankle and keep playing. Ya know, it’s not just for horses anymore..
It’s an Aaron Rodgers conspiracy. We all know how devious he is. Just trying to keep the Packers from getting that first round pick by not playing 65% of the snaps. I wouldn’t put anything past him to get back at Gute.
