On August 10, at Soldier Field in Chicago, the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears will kick off their 2023 NFL regular seasons. It will start at 4:25 PM ET (FOX). Today we will examine the odds for the Packers vs. Bears game at BetMGM Sportsbook and provide some professional NFL predictions and picks.
As QB Jordan Love steps in for the late QB Aaron Rodgers, the Packers start a new era in the team’s life. After Rodgers tested positive for COVID on November 7, 2021, at Kansas City, it is technically Love’s second professional NFL start.
The Bears need some luck. In his NFL tenure, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has an 8-for-8 record versus the Bears. By trading for WR DJ Moore from the Carolina Panthers, the Bears gave QB Justin Fields a reliable downfield threat.

Bears vs. Packers Predictions and Picks
Prediction
Bears 23, Packers 19
ML
As the Packers (-105) enter Week 1 shorthanded, the BEARS (-125) will end the run.
Love will take the helm, but Watson’s departure is critical for the offense as the new quarterback must navigate without his top wideout. And it would be a major issue for Love if Doubs was likewise out of action.
ATS
Given that it costs a little less, the BEARS -1.5 (-110) is a superior choice when placing a modest number of points. If you prefer Chicago, it makes more sense to wager the spread rather than simply play it straight up, unless you think the Bears will win by only one point.
O/U
OVER – The lean is 41.5 (-110); therefore, proceed with extreme caution.
In the last three games of this series, the Over has won two of them. The Packers still have the adaptable RB Aaron Jones, but they will struggle to score without Watson on the field.
With Fields, RBs Khalil Herbert and D’Onta Foreman, the Bears can run the ball well. We should see an increase in scoring in Chitown if Moore is added to the attack, providing the team with a real downfield threat.

Call me confused, but I thought the Packers are playing the vikings this week…..
….
Anyway…..in other delightful news, two former Packers LBs are playing well elsewhere. Kris Barnes has 3 passes defensed, and Oren Burks has the top PFF coverage grade, something he was projected to be really good at coming out of college. Makes you think about the Packers coaching, and that perhaps Gute may not have missed on as many of these guys as we think.
…..
The Packers offensive line has mostly regressed from last year. Elgton Jenkins being the biggest one, but my guess is his knee isn’t right and is playing injured because they don’t have a better option. Tom is the only one that is above average in both pass pro and run blocking grade per PFF. Not having Bahk hurts.
…..
Also, worth noting that Dan Orlovsky, Kurt Warner, and JT O’Sulivan have stuck up for Jordan Love this week. While I am down on the guy because he has made some mistakes that are undeniably on him, and made some poor throws, the shaky offensive line and inexperience at WR has made it nearly impossible to have a functioning offense, along with his own inexperience. If the team wanted to get a true evaluation of him, they really made it tough on themselves to get an evaluation and have kicked themselves in the dick. It’s not great when Love has more rushing yards than Aaron Jones, leads the team in rushing TDs, and has the most 20+ yard runs on the team. Rodgers last year at least had Bahk for 2/3 of the season and a veteran WR, and a healthy Aaron Jones. This has been worst case scenario. At least it looks like they might have a dude in Jayden Reed. And maybe they do improve as the season goes on. If not, the Packers have to consider a total teardown. That includes shopping guys like Jaire. If they can get a box of pretzels for Bahk and his knee, which is obviously totally f*****d, then they should take it.
Apparently there is no drug testing at TP.com
Wait, what?
I’m not sure if this was done by accident, or if it is a failed attempt at humor.
What i am sure of is, either way, this looks embarrassing.
You almost hope it’s a failed attempt at humor because this has happened at least three times now where an article gets posted several months after it is relevant. Either someone thinks this is really funny or… wow.
Yea, this place is a hot mess, i’m slowly trying to work my way to ‘banned’
So i stop coming in here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I mean….i’m tired of walking on eggshells with my language, then i get moderation anyway. F him, and F this place.
YAWN
Something for ya’ll to read from down the hall.
An article citing other rookie QB’s having better success than Love.
**************************
Ok, listen……
Ken Lass is bold enough to tell you what he thinks, he’s in the minority, as am i.
Love has one or two huge advantages over all those guys.
1) He’s had 3 years to learn an offense
Love ‘should’ have a full understanding of the offense
2) Love got to watch and learn under a HOF’er for 3 years, and one of the most skilled to do it.
*************
So is it Love who is failing?
It damn well might be, we’ll see how it plays out.
Right now, it’s mostly Gute.
You don’t put a first year starter out on the field, with a bunch of skill players who have little to no experience.
Even Rodgers couldn’t do it last season trying to succeed with two raw rookie receivers.
Players play, Gute builds the roster.
Right now….this is on Gute.
Everyone at 1265 knew the offense would struggle because of the inexperience…including Murphy, as he has said as much.
Forget half a season, you give Love the whole season, and if we see improvement at the end, maybe next season.
Under the current circumstance that Gute created, Love is owed that much.
In my own opinion, this team has been a trainwreck since 2018, despite the 13-3 records.
Gute and Murphy gave up on the 13-3 team in 2020 and tried building the future. Creating dissension and drama in the process.
Well, the future is here.
This is what most of us are complaining about, and…..it isn’t Rodgers fault.
BROKEN
Moderation again huh?
Maybe if you spent time fixing that problem, instead of posting a 2 month old article, this might be a better user’s experience.
Isn’t that what this is about?
Is it too soon to start talking again about you handing off this website to someone else who might give a ….?
“On August 10, at Soldier Field in Chicago, the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears will kick off their 2023 NFL regular seasons.”
Or….the 2023 season could also start on Sept 10th, take your pick.
There is a reason i refer to writings from down the hall, i’ve been to Hospice Care Centers that are more exciting than this place in recent memory.

In response to an article for Tucker Kraft getting more chances against Tommi’s queens.
*****************
I could be wrong, but without looking it up, i feel like Gute is batting .000 for players he traded up for.
Just sayin.
As far as going through 3rd round picks, Just grade that an F, and save all that typing.
As far as Tucker Kraft, the little i’ve seen of him, he looks like he should be on the practice squad.
I’m not trying to be a d, but yea….the practice squad.
Sorry
Oh jfc…..
After the Bear game, Barney is puffing out his chest over the Packers, Love, the coaches, he loves Love, and everything about the Packers…..lol
Ed….had the correct response, as usual. 😁

Because you’re not smart enough to see it Kevin, yesterday’s game showed us we don’t need Aaron Rodgers to win. We can do just fine without him. It showed us Kevin, that a well run organization with talented players and coaches doesn’t have the limitations of a team with an egotistical, narcissistic, veteran QB. Yesterday it became fun to be a Packer fan again. Well, for most of us anyway….

If Jordan Love can’t get off to a quick start tomorrow, then there has to be some discussion in the building about tanking the remainder of the season. In order to position yourself to draft a blue chip QB prospect.
This team is flat out ugly. Nothing like allowing the queens first rushing td of the year. Alexander has forgotten how to play football this year. Rasheed Walker doesn’t belong on a football field. Nice hands, feet, Aaron Jones
I’m cutting Alexander some slack, i think he’s earned it.
Plus, he’s coming off of back injury.
You’re correct on Walker. Along with Tucker Kraft, Walker may belong on the practice squad.
Perhaps you should focus less on betting and more on webpage development you fucking clown.
Sincerely,
Someone in the industry.
P.S. This team is getting worse every week.
Well….wait a minute here.
I think you guys are missing something……

That’s the type of game where legends are made.
Love overcame adversity and got it done. Just like the great ones.

What I’m saying Cheese is Jordan Love sees the field, can read a defense, throws the ball with anticipation, and knows his offense. This is all consistent with the growth of a young, talented QB.

Jordan Love, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs. The next Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings.
LMAO…You tell em Flipper!!
I can’t help but agree. The play around the QB regressed five fold from last year, when it already wasn’t great and a 38 YO HOF couldn’t overcome it. What did they expect a 1st year starter that isn’t a HOF QB to do with skill position talent that got more inexperienced and an offensive line and run game that got worse?

As sub-optimal as JLo could play at times today, it wasn’t all on him. Too many times his eyes are following his intended target all the way to the incompletion but he can’t catch the ball for those guys as well. There was a bunch of drops on some passes that were actually well thrown balls. Trouble is, T Rex was on the receiving end of some of those passes. GB does not have tough enough or strong enough receivers who can muscle and fight for a contested ball right now. That was always a good attribute of Lazard and James Jones back in the day. With imperfect passing you need those types of guys.

I watched the game at my favorite bar. How come a whole bar full of drunks knows that running Dillon from shotgun doesn’t work? Seriously, the drunks called the no gain before the snap of the ball. What a scheme Matty.
–
Wow. Things are really bad with this O-line. Really, just, bad.
–
Sorry to the Vikes fans and actually sad to see Kirk Cousins end his season, and who knows, with a non-contact Achilles tear. I don’t like seeing those injuries no matter who gets them.
I would add the coaching on preparation and fundamentals is piss poor, not just the scheme. Every game we come out looking lost and having decent plays/position negated by penalties particularly on offense it seems.
I just went out, and was listening to Love post game on the radio.
He mentioned the offense has got off to slow starts the last couple games.
The last couple games?
Anyway, i just grinned about that.
It was the same ol same ol…i have to do better, we have to do better, we have to execute better, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat…..
My takeaway was this…..
He sounds like he’s almost pouting, he speaks with no emotion.
It sounded so bad i was almost expecting for him to say…”and….i’m not very good”, in this low, even keel, soft voice that he speaks.
I don’t want to say he sounds really uninspiring, but holy s…
BTW….where is the Game Day article?
Is somebody at TP Headquarters pouting?
Denver 21 KC 9 seven minutes left in the game.
….
Now maybe the course of the game changes and Mahomes leads a comeback. But it seems like chiefs have had their own issues on offense with an all world QB. They also have major skill position talent issues, sans Travis Kelce. Proving in today’s NFL, you need some guys at receiver. They are kind of like the Packers in that regard. Except Mahomes is better than Love will ever be most likely, and the result for KC isn’t a whole lot better.
