Packers vs Rams – Game Day: Week 15

A Clash of Mediocrity on the Frozen Tundra

The Lost Season continues with the 4-9 Los Angeles Rams heading into Green Bay to take on the Packers at Lambeau during Monday Night Football. The much-battered Rams desperately need a win or they will be eliminated from playoffs possibility.

This Packers vs Rams game isn’t what it was supposed to be from the perspective of the beginning of the season. Instead of another round between two top teams that have a bit of recent history, we will see two underachieving teams desperately scrape together a win during what will be an icy bitch of a winter night on MNF. Also, somehow, Baker Mayfield became involved.

Adding insult to injury, the game will be called by Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. In addition to that news, David Bakhtiari will be out for the game.

Packers Rams Game Weather

On the radar this game is how well will rookie WR Christian Watson continue to perform as his rapid development has been on display as the season has progressed. There’s also the return of Romeo Doubs for more options.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is looking to quell any rumblings about Jordan Love taking his job sooner than later.

I feel obligated to mention the Packers defense, I hope this sentence alone will do — it’s all they deserve.

“David Bakhtiari will be out for the game.”
    Surprise, surprise…
It looks like Aaron Donald is out for the game as well, so there’s that.

    Go Pack Go!

As secondaries shift to focus on Christian Watson, that will give multiple opportunities to Romeo Doubs who was well on his way to his own breakout season himself before the high ankle sprain. It also prevents defenses from loading the box against the run. We should be able to run the ball and score points. If the defense decides to show up, we should win. I’m less optimistic on Christmas against Miami.

    .
Rodgers has 5.9 million reasons to come back next season. I don’t understand the “if Rodgers returns” thought process.

The…what to do with Love argument, was decided by Murphy/Gute when they handed Rodgers a winning lottery ticket 10 months ago.

I think they 5th year option Love, because they want to see it through.
I could be wrong but i think Rodgers retires in 2024 and Love gets the starting nod.
    **************
You don’t trade Love away because….
    1) You don’t get enough in return.
    2) You have 3 years of training in him, plus 10 million dollars so far
    3) He knows this offense, he (should) be ready to start
    4) Don’t use another #1 pick on a QB before you give Love a chance.
    5) The Packers owe Love the starting job because they screwed him by giving Rodgers more money, thus making Love sit on the bench longer.
    6) If they traded him, it exposes what a colossal mistake it was drafting him, instead of drafting a receiver when the team was on the cusp of getting to the SB.

    The voice of reason.

I Think if they Beat Dolphins, they could take care of the Lavender Scum & Detroit. Miami is the big game. We continue to play that Joe Barry defense (Loose coverage everywhere) Waddle & Hill will kill us.

WTF was Rasoul Douglas Doing on that Int???? Idiot

Kevin, always the voice of stupidity. Tell us why your hero plays better next year. Tell us why we won’t be looking at 6-8 next Christmas with a 40 year old washed up QB and you bitching about play calling. Yeah, Kevin we’ve been on the cusp of going to the SB since 2010. Rodgers keeps screwing it up. Cheese and Mike, let’s see you pussy boys go out and play football two weeks removed from an emergency appendectomy and not bust open your gut. I’m sure you’re both in fine shape.

      Always so very angry Tommi.
      .
I’m genuinely getting concerned about you.
      .
Remember, it’s Christmas time. Maybe you’re an atheist and you don’t care.
      To each their own.
Regardless, it’s well known that the Holiday season is very stressful and a dangerous time for people suffering from depression, personality disorders, chronic hostility and loneliness.
      .
Always remember to take your prescribed medication, and don’t underestimate the power of prayer.

      Merry Christmas Tom.

i posted the “oddity” of an 11-3 team having a +2 pt differential.
Well needless to say, someone related it to Packer wins and losses..fk’n kids
Anyway….it’s down the hall but here’s a snippet.
    *********************
It was a stat observation Taryn, it wasn’t a be all/tell all NFL story.

The vikings know how to win, because they have the personnel to do it.

Trade any two of our receivers for Thielen and Jefferson Game 1, and i’ll guarantee you the NFC standings look far different.
The Packers traded up for Jordan Love in 2020.
The vikings picked up Justin Jefferson.
    Which team won?
    *****************
“The Packers are -27 and have a 5 game worse record. The football fan and purist should ask why and how that is possible. ” – Taryn

Packer fans and Packer fan purist already know how and why it’s possible Taryn.
Some knew before the season started. I said it once, i said it 20 times, i’ll say it again…..

If you have to rely on 2 rookie receivers from the draft, for your offense to be successful, you’ve already lost.

That isn’t how Championships teams are built.

A lot of people thought we had a top 5 elite defense, (mostly based on one 49er playoff game) and a couple 1st round draft picks)

I’m more of the show me, don’t tell me kind Packer fan.
