Packers vs Bears – Game Day: Week 13

Jason Parker by Jason Parker
December 4, 2022

Sorry for the late post, this one will be short.

It’s not a bad season as long as the Packers stomp the Bears and they already have once this season and today will seal the deal.

Currently, the Packers are #8 in the 2023 NFL Draft with Chicago right behind at #9.

Well Kevin, to my untrained eye Justin Fields is playing like a franchise QB. But you’re the expert. You called the long and distinguished careers of QB’s Kurt Benkert and Tim Boyle. Meanwhile Aaron Rodgers looks old and tired. What a surprise. He better start getting the ball to Christian Watson or the Bears are going to “own him.”

I agree. He should be stoned to death based on that haircut. Who the fuck thinks that haircut looks cool? I am not that old, but I just can’t understand why anyone would it looks cool? Then again, I don’t see how anyone thinks septum piercings look attractive but maybe I am just weird

Always entertaining comments. Justin fields is just another type of quarterback in a long line of them. Very athletic and so forth, but can’t keep up that pace his whole career and probably won’t be a Hall of Fame quarterback

Justin Fields has some talent, but he is completely overhyped by the media as usual. Do people remember what happened to Randall cunningham, Michael Vick, Cam Newton, etc

They play a completely different style than Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady etc

Do you see a pattern here folks? The media and some fans buy into the hype that Justin fields has the potential to be a Hall of Fame quarterback

He’s not a traditional stay in the pocket passer, so that’s probably not going to happen

I mean, Cam Newton did win an MVP. And he was pretty damn good at throwing the ball. Vick was solid, and who knows what his career would have been had he not been a piece of shit. Cunningham was solid. Steve Young was a runner. Josh Allen runs quite a bit

There is a difference between QB’s who can run, and running QB’s.
See RG3. Colin K, Tim Tebow, Justin Fields.
Steve Young….was a QB, who could run.

Fields pocket passing numbers are not impressive, he been getting recent media exposure because of his legs.
        Simple minds impress easily.
        See Tom M.

If a QB, runs too much, or can only run, they usually have a short shelf life.
        ,
Cam Newton is a freak of size, but other than that, he’s not highly respected in the NFL.
        Mostly because he’s a manchild…imo.

Ugh. I am trying to not get too impressed with Christian Watson. 3 tds against the cowboys? Eh. Probably a fluke. Another TD the next week? Eh. Two tds the following week? Maybe the kid is kind of good. Now, he has the second most TDs by a Packers WR in 4 week stretch, behind Sterling Sharpe’s 9 TDs in 1994, a guy that probably should be a HOF. So, that’s probably worth something, and probably have to finally give him some credit. But, then again we were talking about how good Eric Stokes looked last year, then he regressed this year, so who knows.

      Watson gets credit Kato…no doubt,
      He’s making plays, credit due.
      Especially the end around!!
      .
But what did we see his first 6 weeks…not much right?
      .
Always have to look at the big picture, but we should appreciate these flash plays as they happen, because this offense looks lethargic, stale, and in slow motion. It looked fast, precise, against Dallas.
      .
This offense is boring me to death, can we get open receivers? They need to work, to get open, move their ass, so to speak.
      This offense needs a pulse.
I don’t want to hear that MLF is one of the young, genius, offensive minds in the league anymore.
Especially when i’m trying to stay awake watching this offense.
      .
You’re correct with Stokes, another example of that is Tonyan,
I get the injury and everything, but we haven’t seen shades of the 2020 version of him.
      .
Like i’ve said…it takes more than 6 completions, a few good games, or even a great single season.
To be considered a good NFL player, you have to have some consistency.

Right. Which is why I am not wanting to get too hyped up right now. Defenses are going to start gameplanning around the guy, because right now he is the guy. Too many guys have come in, not just with the Packers, had one great season, they are crowned, then they revert back to average, or worse.

Yea, i don’t know what’s going on with Savage and Amos either, they’ve kind of fallen off the cliff.
PFF has Amos graded at 54.9, 71st out of 88 safety’s
Savage is at 46.5, or 86th out of 88 safety’s…Those are bench player numbers, or worse.
          .
Then we got Preston Smith who is graded at 62.7, which is the low side of average.
But his 13.9 million is anything but average.
          He’s 68th out of 121 edge rushers
I about lost my shit when they gave him that new deal.
That was almost as dumb as giving Rodgers that money.
          ************
The 2019 free agent signings are well past the positive stages.
I think this is why teams usually don’t spend 182 million in 10 days on free agents.
          .
Were paying 19.5 million in dead money for Zadarius, Turner, and King this season
          Amos fell off a cliff
Preston is making at minimum, 7, or 8 million too much
          ***************************
Under the salary cap next season, we have 9 players taking up over 164 million in cap money, of a total salary cap of 229 million.
Do we get rid of Aaron Jones?
Are we then looking for another corner, safety’s, rb’s, QB, receiver, tight end (please!!) left tackle in next years draft?

Savage isn’t going anywhere his last year, as the Packers fully guaranteed his 4 year deal.
          Will they re-sign Amos?….idk.
But Amos will count 7.95 million against the 2023 cap, regardless.
          .
          It’s a bumpy road.
          .
Oh btw, Kenny Clark counts 24 million against the cap next year, love the guy but…..dude has to start being more of an impact player.

Yeah like everyone, I’m really liking what has come from the last several weeks of Watson. But be honest, did anyone cringe a little when he dove and rolled into the end zone for no good reason? If it was earlier in the season he might have come up nursing a shoulder and walking to the the blue tent. Stop that shit.
    –
This defense could give up 300 yards to a bye week. Alexander’s pick negated an otherwise not so great performance by #23. Keep working those dance moves. Good thing the two ex-presidents (Nixon and Ford) are working out so well. Makes one wonder why it took so long for the coaches to notice they had a couple football players there.

Of course you ladies are going to start a circle jerk over Aaron Rodgers. We won today because Christian Watson scored two more TD’s. We won today because AJ Dillion rushed for nearly a 100 yards. Your remember AJ Dillion Kevin? Not two weeks ago you lamented if Dillion was only as good as Jamal Williams. He’s better. I want Kevin and MMSUCKS to look at Erin’s stat line. Since that’s that’s the only language you understand. Tell me what you see. Sorry girls but there’s not enough there to rub one off for either one of you. We won today in spite of Rodgers, not because of him. Rodgers constantly missed open receivers and can hardly avoid a pass rush anymore. But by all means, pretend Rodgers carried the team to victory. Just like you pretend Jordy Nelson could still suit up and play. As far as Justin Fields, he’s a young ascending player who moved the ball up and down the field making plays with his arm and feet. Plays Rodgers at 39 can no longer make. The game was his to win before the Jaire Alexander INT. If Fields stays healthy, you better hope Jordan Love is the real deal otherwise Chicago will “own” us over the next decade. As for Christian Watson, Kevin, he had a knee scope and missed all of training camp. Then was in and out of the lineup with a mild hamstring injury. Throw in Rodgers pettiness for the drop ball in Minnesota and that explains the slow start. We’ve won two games since starting 3-1. In those two wins Christian Watson has 5TD’s! That’s no accident. By the end of next season, Christian Watson, along with Justin Jefferson and JaMar Chase, will be the best WR’s in the NFL. Which brings me to my next point. You ladies bitched and bitched because Brian Gutekunst didn’t drafted a WR in the first round. I told you, you can find WR’s anywhere in the draft. Watson (2nd) and Romeo Doubs (4th) are two of the best WR’s in their draft class. The offense looks lethargic, stale, and in slow motion because you have a 39 year old QB that no longer can play at a high level no matter how much you pretend otherwise. Had Chicago drafted Christian Watson, the Bears win today. He was the difference maker. And there would have been nothing Aaron Rodgers could have done to prevent that.

Translation: If Jordan Love throws a TD pass to Christian Watson, Love is a hero and proof he’s a NFL starting QB.
When Rodgers throws a TD pass to Watson, Watson is the hero.

Kind of used to enjoy the banter between you and PF4L…kind of. Now I’m realizing you really don’t provide much other than uninformed bitching. Justin Fields is an Option QB. Option qbs tend to make a splash in the NFL because teams rarely scheme for them because option qbs never last long in the NFL because they get f#cling creamed once teams figure them out! Secondly, for whatever faults one may bestow on Aaron Rodgers, he has contributed to championship teams in Green Bay. For those of us that were fans in the 70s and 80s, we are grateful. So, while I don’t expect you and PF4L to kiss and make up, you could at least STFU. At least he provides some informed insight (and a bit of sarcasm). I now retreat back into anonymity.

Your hero ladies, is an embarrassing 2-7 over his last 9 starts. He’s been outplayed by QB’s Justin Fields to Bailey Zappe and everyone in between. If Chicago doesn’t miss that FG. If St Brown runs the right route, or the very least, he comes back for the ball causing an incompletion. Neither of which is on Justin Fields, Chicago wins the game. Regardless of the outcome, both Justin Fields and Jordan Love show promise as franchise QB’s. Kevin tells us Kurt Benkert and Tim Boyle are better QB prospects because of meaningless preseason stats. Like his Jordy Nelson evaluation, NFL GM’s beg to differ. Justin Fields is ahead of the curve because he’s actually playing and learning how to be a NFL QB. While Love’s development is on hold for the Aaron Rodgers farewell tour. I see epic battles in the future between Love and Fields. While Rodgers looks like a 39 year old QB that’s holding on to the past. A shadow of his former self. But you ladies pretend otherwise. The land of believe is all you have left with Mr Rodgers. See what I did there?
