Titans at Packers Thursday Night Game Preview

Packers woes continued after a 27-17 loss against the Titans at home. Green Bay was aiming at successive wins against the Titans after their previous win playing Dallas Cowboys.

The team has one of its worst starts in recent history, and the Thursday night game is just an example of recent outcomes. Here is a recap of the game and what we learned from the outcome.

Packers Problems Continue

Offensive Struggles

Green Bay fans will be the first to agree that the team and QB Aaron Rodgers are performing dismally. The offensive line had to fight for each of their 17 points, one touchdown coming, literally, at the last play of the 1st quarter.

Rodger’s excellent throw to the rookie wide receiver, Christian Watson, is arguably Packer’s best play. However, it does not cover that the current MVP was 24 of 35 for 229 yards. He also had to make desperate throws throughout the game and was lucky not to get intercepted.

Other lucky individuals were those who wagered on Rodgers not throwing a pick on the Betway platform. You can also utilize sports betting zambia, to try your luck with the upcoming NFL fixtures.

Also, the offense couldn’t capitalize fully on turnovers created, including an interception. The defense stopped Derrick Henry and Titan’s QB a couple of times. Perhaps the defense didn’t do enough to stop the opponent’s offense.

Is the Defense to Blame?

Defensive stats were impressive without considering the scoreline. Major highlights included:

• 1 interception: Rasul Douglas
• 3 sacks: Quay Walker (0.5), Krys Barnes (1), and Preston Smith (1.5)
• 3 tackles for loss(TFL)

You’ll be interested that Tannehill and his offense had the ball for 13 minutes in the 2nd quarter. Also, holding Henry at 88 yards for 28 carries was half the job, as they could not fully cover the QB, who went off for 333 yards.

Therefore, the Packer’s defense wasn’t bad at all, but they could have done better to shave off some points off Titan’s scoreboard.

Tennessee Titan’s Outstanding Performance

The Titans seem to be improving each year, and Thursday night’s win was a testament to how hard coach Mike Vrabel has formulated a balanced team.
Now at 7-3 in the season, the team’s stat sheet fits their current rank.

Ryan Tannehill Outdueled Aaron Rodgers

Thursday was Tannehill’s 3rd game back from injury, and he looked sharper than before, especially playing amid noisy home fans. He made 22 of his 27 throws for 333 yards, averaging an impressive 12.3 yards.
He had 2 touchdown passes, the first coming early in the 1st quarter, to RB Dontrell Hilliard. His QBR rating (77.7) covers that he threw 1 interception.

Treylon Burks was a huge benefactor of the accurate throws, coming down with an excellent 111 yards for 7 catches. Robert Woods followed up with 69 yards for 6 catches.

Derrick is a Utility Powerhouse

Tennessee’s run game was not great at the Bay, where Henry had 28 carries for 88 yards. He would come in handy in several trick plays and game-changing moments.

On top of the running yards, he had 2 receptions for 45 yards, one covering 42 yards. Additionally, he threw a 4-yard touchdown to Austin Hooper during a trick play to stretch the lead to 20-9.

The Defense did Enough

Despite getting sacked once, Aaron Rodgers was under constant pressure from the defensive line and blitz plays. The secondary was also impressive all night, limiting space for receivers like Lazard and sensational rookie Watson.

The defense helped the team and Betway bettors secure their gain. They also played a role in extending their advantage in the AFC South and edging closer to a playoff berth. At 4-7, the Packers were left hanging tight to the second position in the NFC North. The next match against the 9-1, Eagles side will be an uphill task too.

Conclusion

The game justified that MVP Aaron Rodgers and his offense have worked better together to at least finish the season strongly. Meanwhile, the Titans, who face the Bengals next, look like a legit playoff team.
