Packers vs Titans – Game Day: Week 11

Jason Parker by Jason Parker
November 17, 2022
in News and Rumors
17

The fresh hell that is the Packers’ 2022 schedule continues with the Tennessee Titans headed into Green Bay for a Thursday night game that is mere days from a nail-biting victory against the Dallas Cowboys, led by McBuffet himself. While a satisfying victory, it came in overtime and was hard won.

Now the Pack must run the table once again for any hope of playoffs as the Vikings are having one hell of a season themselves and are sitting comfortably at the top of the NFC North.

In roster news, WR Amari Rodgers was dumped this week with the Texans claiming him off the waivers. Good luck and good riddance.

Also getting the boot was RB Kylin Hill — who was a seventh round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. LaFleur was quoted by NBC on the matter:

Being a member of the Green Bay Packers, it’s a privilege. There are standards and expectations that are placed on every member of this team that we expect guys to live up to. I appreciate what Kylin’s been through, I know it hasn’t been easy coming back from that knee injury that he suffered a year ago, that was pretty devastating. He’s a guy we had high expectations for, and realize he’s in a loaded room, but regardless of your role big or small, we expect guys to come to work and be supportive and own that role to the best of your ability. If you don’t do that, that’s what happened.

Well fuck me Jen Hale, it’s Game Day!!
    .
According to “whispers”, Hill was let go because he refused to return kicks.
    .
Maybe that’s what MLF meant when he said “but regardless of your role big or small….”
    It’s my best guess anyway.

Didn’t he get injured on a return last season? Probably figured returning kicks would be detrimental to his career unlike being insubordinate would…oh, wait a minute.

Rob Demovsky writing about playing Love… our 2020 first round pick blunder…..
    .
The Packers remain all-in, but if at some point they’re eliminated from playoff contention before the final week of the season, a case can be made to start Love — especially if they’re not sure whether to pick up the fifth-year option on his contract for the 2024 season. They must make that decision by the first week of May 2023. – Rob Demovsky 11/09/2022
    .
Then there’s the Love factor. The Packers must decide by May whether to exercise the quarterback’s fifth-year option for 2024 (which would be worth nearly $20 million fully guaranteed). Earlier this year, Gutekunst told the Green Bay Press-Gazette that it would be “very difficult to envision” a scenario in which Rodgers and Love are both on the roster in 2024. – Rob Demovsky 11/17/2022
    .
Now wait just a damn minute here, i’m very confused.
Didn’t one of our “professed” Packer fans tell us the Packers guaranteed Love his 5th year option, after the draft in 2020?
    So how could this be?
    .
You know anything about this Tommi?

Rodgers is playing like he has played every game this year, except when he’s out for revenge against McCarthy and decided to be competitive. He’s being out played by Ryan Tannehill at halftime. He hates LaFluer like he hated McCarthy in 2018, so he’s not trying. The Titans have the second worst pass defense in the league and guys are injured in their secondary and still he can’t pull the trigger on open guys.

    • Avatar for PF4L PF4L says:

Let me see if i got this straight….
      1) Rodgers only “decides” to be competitive, if he’s playing McCarthy, otherwise…just doesn’t try.
Nothing gets by your sharp mind Deep.
      WOW
      2) He hates LaFleur just like he hated McCarthy, so he doesn’t try.
LOL…if your reading this Tommi, you got competition!!
      WOW
The brilliance of that is leaving me speechless.
      .
How many lumps you want Deep?

        Keep em coming!! 😮

I don’t see at this point how anyone can defend Rodgers after yet another abysmal performance. The fact that Rodgers played well against his ex-coach McCarthy tells me he is playing poorly by choice, playing well only when his own personal ego might be bruised if he loses. The Titans had the 31st WORST pass defense in the league coming into this game. Rodgers from 2011 would have torn this team up, easily. There’s no defending Rodgers at all. There were reports Packer fans at the game were literally chanting for Jordan Love, so maybe I’m not the only one who has this opinion.

      • Avatar for PF4L PF4L says:

        Deep….
It isn’t so much we defend Rodgers….but when all a few of you do is rip on Rodgers as if he is the only one who determines the outcome of a game. Something needs to be said for other bad play that you won’t acknowledge.
You don’t acknowledge it, because of your obsession with Rodgers, or you just happen to be clueless.. You and your kind are too busy saying the most outlandish shit out of leftfield to hate on Rodgers. I mean…just stupid shit, as i pointed out.
        .
Rodgers didn’t let Tannehill convert all those 3rd downs, Rodgers didn’t allow Tannehill to put up career numbers against the Packer defense. Rodgers didn’t let all those receivers so wide open.
        .
When are you and your brothers Kato and Rebel, along with your cousin Tommi, going to realize Rodgers put up good enough numbers to win.
Through 14 years of HOF play, can Rodgers have a bad game here n there at 38 years old?
Or isn’t that acceptable in your world.
        .
As your cousin Tommi told us, our top 5 elite defense and running game are enough to take the Packers to a SB.
All Rodgers has to do is hand the ball off, and make a few passes and not turn the ball over……according to Goober.
        .
Yes, there is defending Rodgers Deep, because of people like you saying stupid shit like…” He hates LaFluer like he hated McCarthy in 2018, so he’s not trying.”
        .
Did you learn this from your couch? Watching the 22’s? Did you learn it from another NFL expert in a football forum?
        .
Let me ask you Deep….when Dontrell Hilliard came in the game, why should have that been a flag to the Packers coaches and players?
        Want to at least guess?
You remember him, he was the rb wide open who scored on a TD pass the first series
Tell us, what are your thoughts on that.
        .
That’s why we defend Rodgers Deep…because it just isn’t him. This team is broken.

    What the Packers did well……
    .
The defense limited Tannehill’s passer rating to 127.3
The defense limited the Titans 30th ranked passing offense 333 yards.
The defense limited the 32nd ranked offense to 408 yards
The defense limited Tannehill’s average per pass attempt at 12.3 yards.
Yes, you read that right, 12.3 yards per pass attempt.
    .
Maybe…..the Packer defense not playing well, was by choice
    YEA….i think i’m on to something. 😏
    *******************
Like Tommi educated us over the off season…..
We don’t need receivers….not with our elite top 5 defense and the running team of Jones and Quadzilla.
    .
    A. Jones…..12 carries, 40 yards…3.3 YPC
    Quadzilla…..6 carries, 13 yards…2.2 YPC
    *******************
But yea…Jordan Love could have fixed that.
Maybe he could have gotten behind Jones and Quadzilla….and pushed.

This team has to play perfect to win…Rodgers didn’t play perfect today so they didnt win. He def missed some throws he needs to make, that being said…it isn’t the sole reason the Packers lost. Even if he converts those drives do we think the defense steps up? I’d put the chances of that at 25% or less. The defense has slowly been getting worse and losing their only source of pass pressure…Rashan Gary…was the nail in the coffin for them. I wasn’t paying super attention to this game (it was during bed time for small children) but everytime i looked the Titans were converting 3rd down catches with ease…the packers played a lot of soft zone or busted coverages cause the Titans had some very wide open people…typically 15 yards from the LOS on the sidelines. I wish the fix on defense was just firing Barry…but we’ve seen the same shit for a decade regardless whose calling the defense. I think we have a player issue,a coaching philosophy issue, and a fundamental organizational issue of how they scout and develop defensive players …i’ve been advocating building a 4-3 style defense for several years now, especially with Clark, Wyatt, Slaton, Gary on the roster. Let Jaire earn his pay check by shadowing the 1 as much as possible and build around that.

    ******
Back to the original point though, it seems like this team truly has to play 100% perfect to win. The only thing different between now and everything since the halftime of the Giants game is it looks like they finally have something to build from offensively. Watson will probably be made of glass until he bulks up…that being said…he is a graceful runner, and despite not even really knowing what hes doing he has a natural feel for the game and is “out athleting” the other top 1% of athletes. Will be interesting to see how they play when Doubbs is back (assuming they don’t give up).

Although not great, i thought the Dallas game was the 1st time i felt the Packers played decent football for 4 quarters in a long time.
      .
Seeing that, i think Packer fans we’re like, ok, this is the Packer team we can be proud of.
But i was afraid of a team letdown after the Dallas game, plus the short turn around.
      .
Rodgers had some less than stellar pass attempts. We continue to see the dink dunk game. I’m ok with that a little bit, BUT….only if you can execute it. It seems almost every time they go there, it’s for a loss or a very short gain. I think they had 8 or 9 passes like that which went anywhere from minus 1 yard – plus 4 yard.
That, coupled with the “give up” throws out of bounds, and bad clock management drives me nuts.
Those end arounds with Watson go absolutely nowhere.
      .
What’s happening with the pass defense?
We play the 32nd ranked offense and make them look like superstars? WTF? Broken coverages, wide open receivers, etc.
I can remember two separate instances where Packer def. back players were jawing back and forth at each other after the play was whistled dead.
The defense did a nice job reigning in Henry, but there was a serious disconnect in pass defense.
      .
I think the fat lady is singing, but i thought she was singing after the Lions game.
Time to get a decent top 5 or top 10 draft pick.
The Packers blew their chance of getting high draft picks for Rodgers.
Will they fuck this up also?
      .
Credit due to Watson for adding 2 more TD to his resume, especially the 1st quarter high point catch for a TD.

Fuck Up draft??? NO WAY! been drafting Steller defense pcs for yrs LMAO
Dillion looks more like a bust’
LaFluer & Barry shd both get FIRED, seen enough of their incompetence.
Tenn is mediocre team at best & we made’em look like 2000 Ravens.
Packers are SOFT & most poorly run team in NFL. season was over when it took us OT to beat average NE team with 3rd stribf QB in Lambeau
Time to break out the bags
