The Packers head into their game on the road against the Commanders looking to rebound from a two-game skid. Their 27-10 loss to the Jets at home has been the low point of the Packers 3-3 start. Washington enters play last in the tough NFC East with a record of 2-4. Green Bay is currently a 5-point favorite.

Comparing the two teams statistically, the Packers are 24th in scoring at 17.8 points per game and 14th in yards from scrimmage. Defensively, the Packers are 15th in points allowed at 20.5 points per game and 5th in yards allowed. The Commanders rank 29th in scoring at 17 points per game and 24th in yards. Defensively, the Commanders are 18th in points allowed at 22.5 per game and 18th in yards allowed.
Aaron Rodgers has completed 67 percent of his passes for 1403 yards and nine touchdowns, but has been sacked 15 times. Allen Lazard has stepped up to be Rodgers’ biggest touchdown threat, scoring four times on his 20 receptions. Robert Tonyan and Romeo Doubs have surpassed 20 receptions. On the ground, Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon have shared the load. Jones has 409 yards on 70 carries and Dillon has 286 yards on 73 attempts.
Defensively, Rashan Gary is having a Pro Bowl type season with six sacks, a forced fumble and 26 tackles. The Packers continue to be woeful at forcing turnovers with only a single interception and three forced fumbles on the season.
For the Commanders, Carson Wentz is out with a broken finger. Up steps Taylor Heinicke, who threw for 3419 yards and 20 touchdowns with 15 interceptions last season. He will probably look for Curtis Samuel as his primary target. Samuel has 34 receptions and two touchdowns. Terry McLaurin is the biggest deep threat, averaging nearly 17 yards per catch. Rookie Jahan Dotson has four touchdown receptions but is listed as questionable for the game. On the ground, the Commanders rely on Antonio Gibson, who has 214 yards and two touchdowns, but averages only 3.5 per carry.
Defensively, the Commanders can apply pressure, recording 19 sacks as a team, led by Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne with 3.5 each. Much like the Packers, the Commanders haven’t forced many turnovers, having intercepted only two passes and recovered one fumble.
Both teams are near the bottom of the league in turnover differential. The Packers are –4 and the Commanders are –5.

WR Sammy Watkins Should Be Active
Packers anticipate that WR Sammy Watkins, who was activated off IR on Saturday and is listed as questionable for today, will be available to play vs. the Commanders. One more wideout for Aaron Rodgers.

Well fuck me Colleen Wolfe….It’s Game Day!!
.
A new article in only 7 days…things are looking up!! 😏
The talking heads have Bakhtiari out of todays.
Not a good sign. I think it was 2 weeks ago, Bakh had only 25 snaps one game, i would assume it was for a reason.
.
Christian Watson is continuing to do what he does. Nothing
.
Devonte Wyatt is questionable.
.
Not sure about Jenkins, but he didn’t practice much…probably just resting his knee.
Amari Rodgers doing what he does best. Holy shit, what is this guy good for besides muffing kicks and dropping passes? Because of that turnover Washinton got three points. The Packers just lost by two. What a fucking bum. That guy should be gone tomorrow just like Ty Montgomery.
.
Then the defense has a TD taken away because Washingtons WR ran right into Stokes? The NFL is such a joke. “Well there was only this many illegal contact calls last year so we had to make sure that there was more this year.” Unbelievable.
.
Don’t worry, the offense played like absolute shit as well. Sammy Watkins? Not sure what he’s good for. Totally blew his blocking assingment that would have gotten a first down. Amari is dropping passes that hit him right in the fucking hands. Go figure, hey? 95% of their passes are behind the line of scrimmage. AJ Dillon doesn’t appear to be anymore productive than Jamal Williams ever did. But have you seen that guys legs before?????? It looks like an up hill struggle just to get a first down. Only a hundred yards of offense by the fourth quarter? This team is a dumpster fire. Glad I pissed away three and a half hours sitting inside watching them on a sunny day. But hey, they have the same record as Tom Brady so they must be doing pretty good.
I’m with you Cheese ! I turned it off after having to listen to Johnston spend half the 3rd quarter providing excuses for the Wackers bad play. Was waiting for them to proclaim a success because they only lost 1/2 game on Vikes (since they had a Bye) and are still ahead of Bears and Lions……
At this point they only have a 24% chance of making the play-offs, however considering the rest of the schedule it should be more like -9% (total yards in Q3 today) … Given salary cap limits, thanks to Rodgers and Bahktiari mondo contracts, there ain’t no way they pick up enough to improve the odds…. Speaking of Bahk – WTF ??? Is that guy ever gonna play a full season again ? And What’s with Watson ? He was injured when they drafted him.
Bring in Love to play 2nd half (or more) for last 10 games, that gives LaPew chance to check him out and brass time to determine if they need to draft a new QB. Given the team’s current trajectory, they should get some pretty good, early round picks in 2023.
In summary, I felt like I was back in the 80s, watching Tony Dilweg try to create offense…. I’m afraid we are witnessing the end of the 2nd Packers Dynasty !
Gone Pack, Gone …
That’s why i don’t start watching a game until 45-60 minutes after it starts…i refuse to watch commercials, whether it’s sports, tv shows, or a movie.
Ice….i’m almost sure they have a good idea what they have in Love.
Giving Rodgers his contract should be some testimony to that.
.
The Packers made a bold move to move on from the current team in 2020 and Rodgers by drafting Love.
What they should have done when Rodgers asked to be traded….is traded him for 2 huge benefits.
Mega draft resources and…..instant cap relief.
As much of a Rodgers fan that i am, that move would have been in the best interest of the Packers.
As i said back in 2020.
.
Then we’d be in Love’s 3rd year starting.
.
For some reason…. sometime after Love came to Green Bay….the Packers nixed their master plan and changed course in moving on from Rodgers.
.
How that relates to how much or how little the Packers value Jordan Love is up to interpretation i guess.
Cuz Love Sucks, they all know that! was another Draft Day bust. Team is littered with them
I’m not laying this loss on the Packers. I think there were stronger forces involved.
.
I read an article in witchcraftmonthlyforum.com that Gisele had put a witches curse on this Packer game.
.
They never stood a chance.
Friggin’ Gisele, she hexed a good friend of mine a coupla years back…..
….. turned him into a Bears fan !
Well….i found out it was Rodgers fault after all.
.
After giving Gisele the high hard one, apparently he never called her after.
.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Gotta give the TFKAS (Team Formerly know as the Skins) and especially our home state bred man, Taylor Heinike, alot of credit. They played a complete 4-qtr game with heart and motivation, even after the catastrophic start…. Rivera is a great coach, always cool and supportive of his players…. it’s a team with a future !
Given the team’s current trajectory, they should get some pretty good, early round picks in 2023. / icebowl
–
True that icebowl. Now consider this. There’s still a very good chance it will be Brian Gutekunst and the current room of talent evaluators making those picks. The same people who picked Amari Rodgers in the third. The same people who traded up to get Christian Watson high in the second, because once he gets over his injury, and his case of the dropsies, and develops rapport with the QB, and learns the playbook – he’s gonna be something. The same brain trust who for the last four of five years never thought about getting a blue chip receiver to come in and be a solid #2, future #1.
–
Yeah, it just warms your heart when you think about it.
–
I sure hope there is no act of desperation trade move in the next couple weeks because one player is not going to make a difference and I just don’t trust the move they (Gute and Co.) would make.
Must see TV……
.
You can re-watch the Bucs Tom Brady “Rallying the Troops” against the 1-5 Panthers on the NFL Network.
Watched a video on Twitter yesterday. The packers were running drills but #23 & #21 were practicing there dancing moves. Seeing shit like that makes me wonder how bad they really want to win.
Maybe like Dennis Green said “We aren’t who we taught we were”
Everyone thought that this team was going to figure out some things and start to click eventually. Well, after seven games I think it’s pretty clear what they are. They’ve been talking about turning things around since week 1. Well, it still hasn’t happened. Not to say that they can’t turn it around. It doesn’t look likely, but they better do it pretty damn quick. This is starting to look like 2018 all over again.
Your dreaming . They just lost to Worst team in NFL, so whats that make them? Its going to DISGUST me to watch Buffalo put them away in 1st Qtr. 51-3. I HATE FKG Bills, They lose in that Landfill of a city every fkg time, even when they’ve gone there with superior teams
This season is what happens when the GM wants to role with practice squad receivers. Amari Rodgers has 6 fumbles in his two year career. Christian Watson is hurt, most likely won’t make any impact this year. Cobb is good for the occasional first down catch. Doubs dropped four passes today. Lazard dropped a catch on third down. Deguara and Tonyan are absent from having any real impact. The only real chances they have is to make a trade but it looks like Gutenkunst is fine sitting out and watching the team lose game after game.
The defense is still terrible against the run. If the Packers were playing with leads like the last couple years then they would look better. But I think because they are never winning by more than one score the other team never has to pass. That would also be solved by getting a receiver so the Packers had a better offense. But again no trades coming. Gutenkunst has run this team right into the ground and there’s no end in sight.
Joe, everything you say is pretty spot on. The board of directors or Mark Murphy probably won’t want to fire Guntekunst anytime soon. Where’s the accountability on this team? Does anybody think Mike Holmgren would have allowed Amari Rodgers to keep messing things up this much?
Also, as I pointed out before, Joe Barry was the defensive coordinator in Detroit during the 2008 season
Oh yes, I was only getting started and didn’t feel like typing out my whole response, because it’s basically the same response I’ve had after every game this year.
The Packers decisions over the last few years have been some of the most head-scratching ever made. They give Aaron Rodgers a huge contract, but don’t invest any resources into the offense over the last few years except later round lineman, Aj Dillon, and Amari Rodgers. So now when Adams had to be traded they had no one ready to go. The resources from 2020 draft were spent on Love and other guys like Deguara who make no impact on this team’s chances of winning games. 2021 was another miss and so was 2022.
The Packers have also spent a lot of resources on defense and then fail to maximize it by hiring Joe Barry who as you say is one of the worst defensive coordinators in the NFL. The Packers have the best passing defense, but one of the worst rushing defenses. It would be worth hiring another coach to see if that can be helped somewhat. But if that can’t be fixed, then all the more reason to improve the receiver position, so the Packers can go back to playing with leads or at least have a chance to get back into the game. The Giants, Jets, and Commanders all ran the ball with a lot of success. Even when those teams were losing they could still run the ball.
” Amari Rodgers has 6 fumbles in his two year career.”
.
I was wondering what that number was. I expected it to be at least four, but six??? Yikes. How this guy still holds the return man position is beyond me.
What Packers should do now that seasons done. 1) Sit Rodgers rest of season (stay healthy) with the 5 turnstiles up front, hes gonna get injured. Let Love mop up rest of season. 2) Fire Lefluer & Gutekunst at seasons end. 3) HIRE Sean Peyton before some other team nabs him & Interview GM replacements with Sean in process. He would have 3-4 with Rodgers & we will win a Super Bowl. We need a competent HC & GM & right now we have neither
I don’t know, to me it just doesn’t seem like the coaching can stop the bleeding once it starts.
And I’m starting to fill a sense of entitlement with some of are d-backs. Maybe #23 has lost the hunger
of being the best and wants to stay healthy so he can make a bunch of money$. I guess it’s only human nature.

This is what a starting offense of gute players looks like under “draft and develop”.

Te- sternberger and deguara
Is Rodgers declining? Absolutely who wouldn’t at that age but this is how the organization has helped. We basically have mvs and pre injury Jenkins as the only meanigful offensive additions in half a decade.Myers isn’t terrible either I suppose.
Jace Sternberger (cursed 3rd round pick 2019) tweeted an epic troll of the Packers when he stated that maybe the Packers should have drafted Terry McLaurin. Jace was picked at 75 in that draft, McLaurin at 76.
–
Yes Jace, they probably should have. They probably should have made a whole bunch of different draft decisions over the years but the funny epic troll comment actually speaks volumes about the talent evaluation and acquisition skills of Brian G and his brain trust of scouts. It wasn’t just the Sternberger pick that was a screw up, it was several others and until there is some real change at the helm of this organization there will be several others.
–
For sure, the draft is a crap shoot at times and if you get 50% or slightly better, in the aggregate you’re doing well. But even the “doing well” picks are having confounding moments recently. Gary has developed and gotten better but the defensive unit as whole is not great against the run. Gary is often overplaying his edge and allowing run plays to develop. Alexander was pissed about Barry’s zone defense and let people know it. The very well compensated Alexander has been burned now in a few games by some decent receivers fed by back up QBs. Maybe Stickman is onto something with the dance moves getting the practice time. Those two examples are more coaching than talent because they are good players and were very good picks.
–
I simply don’t trust who is running this team right now to make the correct decisions going forward with building a team and picking talent. They have shown way too much already in their body of work.
Are there any bigger DICKS on TV, than Cowherd & Jason McIntyre??? McIntrye has his head up Cowshits ass so much, if he farts it’ll blow his brains out. Cowherd & Bayless = 2 Anal Sphincters
Cowherd and Bayless are pedantic, pontificating, pretentious bastards. Belligerent old farts. Worthless steaming piles of cow shit. Figuratively speaking.
