Packers vs Vikings: Game Day – Week 1

Jason Parker by Jason Parker
September 11, 2022
in News and Rumors
21

After a long off season of some tough goodbyes due to personnel moves, various Aaron Rodgers shenanigans, and a preseason without any veteran starters, we finally get to see some real Packers football. Most the United States will be able to watch the broadcast, see the map down below. To make it even more interesting, the Packers will be traveling to Minneapolis to take on NFC North Rival, Minnesota Vikings. Be sure to stock up on your Vikings memes.

With the current wide receiver situation, who knows what we will see today. Likely a run-focused strategy with some extra load on the tight ends until we learn who our WR1 is.

Speaking of tough goodbyes, we will say hello once again to LB Za’Darius Smith. Unfortunately, he will have some silly purple rag on him.

You may also be interested to know the most Overpaid QB in NFL History, Kirk Cousins, might be showing up today.

As is tradition, injuries are beginning to undermine some of the excitement going into the season. Reports indicate that David Bahktiari, Elgton Jenkins, and Allen Lazard will not be playing.

The #Packers are expected to be without LT David Bakhtiari (knee), RT Elgton Jenkins (pectoral/knee) and WR Allen Lazard (ankle) today against the #Vikings, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Yosh Nijman slated to start in Bakhtiari’s place on Aaron Rodgers’ blind side.

This is the Vikings big chance. At home with both tackles and Lazard likely out. Still we have the better QB and the better defense. This is why Gutekunst spent so much resources on defense. If they do their job and Rodgers doesn’t tighten up like he does in the playoffs we should win. Watching Trey Lance vs Justin Fields. Neither look good or even better than Jordan Love. Yet both cost their respective teams multiple first round picks and are media darlings. The good news, I suppose, is both will probably get better. Not sure if they can look worse.

Man, I remember coming in here after a game and within a few hours there was 60+ comments on the gameday article easy. Within a day it could get over 100 comments. It’s been a few hours and this is the first and only comment all day, if it even goes through.

Well this was another stinker from LaFleur and the Packers. The defense is legit bad. There was so much hype in the off-season but they are as bad as ever. Several times Jefferson was wide open without a defender within 10 yards. Those types of breakdowns can’t happen on a defense full of veteran players. The run defense was also bad. The Packers defense is playing more like the defense that ended last year tied for most touchdown passes given up during the last seven games rather than the stingy defense that showed up in the 49ers game. That defense that played great in the 49ers game might not exist and this who they really are.

The offense was a mess too. It looked like the McCarthy offense out there. Too many long developing shotgun pass plays that resulted in incomplete passes and sacks. Where are the quick passes and misdirection plays? We saw them a few times but LaFleur abandoned them. The only time the offense moved the ball was when Rodgers threw to Dillon and Jones in the flat. The Vikings weren’t stopping it too but LaFleur decided to abandon it regardless. After their one touchdown they went back to the stupid shotgun plays and the offense collapsed again.

It always seem to me that are coaches are a step behind when it comes to stopping what the other team is doing. Why can’t they adjust to what the other team is doing? If we have supposedly one of the best defensive back fields in football, Justin Jefferson must be Jesus playing football on Sunday’s.
Joefan might be right when he said this coach is another McCarthy.

    ALL Packer receivers….120 yards//////////Davante Adams….141 yards
    .
All Packer tight ends….67 yards/////// Darren Waller…79 yards
    .
    On the bright side…..
    .
The Packers elite defense Tom M always tells us about, held Cousins to a passer rating under 120, and also limited Justin Jefferson to under 200 yards.
    .
Join us soon as Tom M explains to us simpletons about how good our offensive line is and that Royce Newman is a soon to be 10 year starter……lol
    ***************
Like i preached before the season…….
Training camp and pre-season are not indicators of where your team is….
    It is merely talent assessment.
    .
The true indicator of where your team is, is in real NFL games…again, i’ve repeatedly said the difference is night and day.
    .
Unfortunately it took that shit show we watched on Sunday, to once again, prove my point.

Hey Kevin! Did the Raiders with Davante Adams and his 140 yards win? Another shitty game by Aaron Rodgers which I could overlook. After all he is 38. But instead of coaching up his young WR’s on the sideline. He’s crying like a little bitch to his daddy Tom Clements. But then again real leadership was never was one of Erin’s attributes. For 50 million per season, we’re not getting our money’s worth. Not to worry, Kevin will blame everything on 4th round draft pick Royce Newman. If Justin Fields with no WR’s can beat SF and Erin can’t with Davante Adams. Then maybe Jordan Love can beat Minnesota. Erin is now 3-4-1 against Kirk Cousins. And you thought he could go to Denver and beat Mahomes, Herbert, and Carr. Sure you did….

Jason, tell the little girls to stop whining! You here to make money. Not provide them a platform to push their stats, conspiracy theory’s, and love of all things Erin….

Now if we could get our comments to post right away, the way they used to, as they do on any other website.
Then we’d have that two year problem fixed.
    .
Fingers crossed…that 2 years is sufficient time to remedy a problem.

Speaking of two year problems…Hi Tom M.
    .
We’re are all glad you’re here. You are welcomed by all!! 😁
    .
Can you tell us more story’s about this elite top 5 defense, and how the Packers don’t need wr’s or tight ends any more because our the defense?🙄
    .
Also….how do the Packers get out of the 5th year option you told us that they guaranteed Love after the draft. Are they stuck with it? Is there a loophole?
Or are they just stuck with a 1st round bench player for a fourth and 5th year who has contributed nothing since being drafted.
    .
Maybe trade him? Maybe we can find a player to actually contribute out on the field with that Jordan Love trade pick.
What do you think they get for Love Princess…a 5th rounder?
    .

Mike Greenberg and some talking head experts, talking about if Rodgers has the temperament to help develop Watson and Doubs……
    .
My first thought is…..Rodgers was put in this position by Gute, who gave him an empty room. Player development happens in training camps and usually takes more than a few months to develop NFL wr’s.
The regular season is not where you develop/rely on rookie wide receivers as “go to” receivers in their first NFL games , but i guess it has to be when Brian Gutenkunst is in charge of personnel.
    .
Greenberg ask Jeff Saturday if Rodgers has the temperament to develop Doubs and Watson….
“He does, but i will tell you it’s not patience, show me a patient QB, and i’ll show you a mediocre QB, all the great ones, they don’t have patience, it’s win now………”
    ****************
As Rodgers said…”There is no grace period in the NFL”
The NFL isn’t going to “wait” until the Packers wide receiver room is “up to speed”
    .
I think Rodgers might know a thing or two about being a successful QB in the NFL.
    .
All we hear from Packer fans is it (usually) takes a year or two to develop receivers, and they are right.
But now it’s Rodgers fault his young guys aren’t trained and that they are making mistakes in their first N.
Rodgers got an empty receiver room with a few veterans way past their peak, and rookies he’s supposed to train (during the regular season apparently).
That’s not how this is supposed to work.
    .
    That’s Gutes fault….not RodgersFL game?
I mean….GTFO of here with this stupid shit.
Let’s hear from the guy (Gute) whose actual job it is to bring players onto the team to be a competitive NFL team.

Your first thought is wrong Kevin. Aaron Rodgers could have gone to Denver. He didn’t. He could have taken less money to sign Adams to a deal earlier. It’s what Tom Brady would have done. Rodgers didn’t do that either. Aaron Rodgers knew exactly what he was getting by staying. The 50 million dollar man needs to make it work. No excuses. You’ve got a kid from North Dakota St and another from Nevada. To say they’re not going to make mistakes in a hostile environment like Minnesota is foolish. Rodgers would be wise to keep feeding them the ball and not sulk and play the victim. Otherwise let Jordan Love throw the ball to rookies.

” He could have taken less money to sign Adams to a deal earlier. It’s what Tom Brady would have done.” – Princess
    .
Translation from the future valedictorian, GED class of 2023…..
In other words….if Rodgers wants a productive NFL receiver, he has to pay that players wages by taking a pay cut. Brilliant!
He needs to hire his own receivers!!
    ***********
Oh my Princess (lol)…..you are entertaining, in a dullard sort of way.
