According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers injury situation improved as offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, tight end Robert Tonyan, and wide receiver Christian Watson have been activated from the physically unable to perform list.
The news means that the players will have a shot to play opening day when the Packers take on the Vikings in Minnesota. This is a much better scenario that the trio starting the season on the PUP, meaning they would have missed at least the first month of the season. Jenkins and Tonyan are recovering from torn ACLs, while Watson had his right knee scoped just prior to training camp.
With Jenkins out, the Packers have been rotating players along the right side of the offensive line. Jenkins, who was a Pro Bowler at left guard in 2020, practiced right tackle technique and LaFleur is pleased with Jenkins’ work ethic during the rehab process, recovering quickly from the injury that occurred November 21 last year.

Tonyan’s injury occurred three weeks prior to Jenkins, leaving the Packers without a threat at tight end the rest of the season. As for Watson, the Packers’ second-round pick this season is expected to be a piece of the puzzle to replace Davante Adams, along with fellow rookie Romeo Doubs and Allen Lazard. Watson is working hard with Aaron Rodgers, going through the learning process of what it takes to be a contributing receiver in the NFL.
The Packers still have three players on PUP: Kicker Mason Crosby, running back Kylin Hill, and offensive tackle David Bakhtiari. Safety Dallin Leavitt went down with a shoulder injury in the preseason opener against the 49ers and Gabe Brkic went down with a hamstring injury.
Also on the injury report is wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who suffered a groin injury during the preseason opener and didn’t practice on Sunday, and linebacker LaDarius Hamilton, who didn’t play against the 49ers–also due to a groin injury. Linebacker Tipa Galeai was listed as questionable on Monday, while the team released linebacker Randy Ramsey, who has battled injuries since being drafted in 2019 and didn’t play in the preseason opener.
This was from a few days ago, but I made yet another posting schedule error. I will address this now.
Why am I receiving 2021 news like Zadarius Smith on IR?
Now that we’re no longer dealing with last years “last dance” drama, the return of Robert Tonyan is significant. He’ll give Rodgers yet another target in the passing game. Aaron Rodgers was never one to utilize his TE much and was far too busy padding his and Davante Adams stats in last years contract season. Tonyan’s numbers were down even before the ACL injury. Rodgers will be throwing the ball to everyone now and that’s a good thing. There’s absolutely no reason to activate Bakhtiari before the end of camp. It’s not like he’ll play in any of this preseason nonsense anyway. Jenkins at RT allows Royce Newman to move back to RG where I’d expect to see a year 2 jump. Both Myers and Runyan are studs. With presumably Bakhtiari back by week one, that’s a formidable OL. That gives you Yosh Nijman a solid swing tackle and Zac Tom first off the bench at G/C. That’s the way you build a solid OL. By all accounts Chris Olave is having a nice camp for the Saints. Good for him. But is it a significantly better camp than Romeo Dobbs? From the 11th pick overall to a humble 4th pick the difference between the two is razor thin. Dobbs is the poster child, like countless others before him, on why you don’t have to burn a first round pick on a WR.
Poster Child?
.
And Do(u)bs has done what in the NFL?
We don’t need to burn a 1st round pick on a receiver, we got a guy who has looked good in camp and a pre-season game….is that the logic Princess?….He’s proven?…Crown him!!
“He’s the “Poster Child!!”…lol 🥱

“With presumably Bakhtiari back by week one” – Said no one intelligent
Are you strung out on meth again sweetheart?

“There’s absolutely no reason to activate Bakhtiari before the end of camp.” – Mr. Hawking
Wow..the more i read….the more i learn 😲

Stay in school kids.
So, where are we at in the receiver room?
This is being brought up Nationally for obvious reasons, our pass catching group was ignored and depleted to the point where everyone in the NFL was/is talking about it. And that isn’t a good thing. But apparently, past draft resources were better spent.outside the receiver position.
.
Why draft receivers when you can draft special players like Kevin King, Josh Jones, Montravius Adams, Josh Jackson, Oren Burks.
All 2nd or 3rd round players.
.
To be fair, Gute did draft pass catchers Josiah Deguara, Amari Rodgers, and most recently, project Christian Watson.
.
Not sure what Dequara has to offer, but it hasn’t been much in his last 2 seasons. Hopefully that changes. But it doesn’t, until it does.
Amari Rodgers…..Ummmm….yea….well….
The good news is….Amari is back on the optimistic radar based his return and TD catch in pre-season.
Of course…some think pre-season performance is indicative of future performance in real games.
God Bless You.
Watson?…..we’ll see…..hopefully he can stay off the PUP list
.
Here’s a link to the current state of the Packer receiving group, and what happens when you ignore the receiver room for years.

I don’t need a link Kevin to make a determination on what I see. That’s what you do. You let others tell you what to think. I trust what I see. And what I’m seeing is no real difference between the 11th overall pick Chris Olave and a humble 4th round pick Romeo Doubs. Doubs can play. I don’t need someone else to tell me that. He looks more and more like this years Amon-Ra St Brown likewise a 4th round pick. Jordan Love can also play. The game is slowing down for him and he’s looking more and more like an NFL QB. How good he’ll be is yet to be determined. As Love gets the mental part of the game down, the sky’s the limit. You know who isn’t an NFL QB? Tim Boyle and Kurt Benkert. Both QB’s you said we’re better than Jordan Love. Here’s my link Kevin. Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson will both go along way towards rebuilding the WR group. Why do I think that? Because Brian Gutekunst has successfully rebuilt virtually every position group on this team. And he’ll do if for the WR’s. Throw in the 3rd year jump by Jordan Love and your fresh out of things to bitch about Brian Gutekunst. Well, there’s always long snapper I suppose….
This just in Kevin. David Bahktari activated from the PUP today. Exactly three weeks away from the season opener in Minnesota. The goal to have him ready to play week one. And no Kevin, I never get tired of always being right….
And that means what?…He’s starting week one?
If he’s starting week one, he’ll have to play in the last pre-season game.
If he doesn’t play and starts in week one anyway. The Packers are in “make a wish” land.
Remember back when…LeFleur said Bahk suffered “zero” setbacks in his recovery.
I believe that as much as i believe Murphy was a NFLPA attorney. or that the Packers guaranteed Love his 5th year option after he was drafted.
There are fools born every minute sweetheart, but not as big a fool as whoever said those things…agree?

You’re always right?…lol

Never…ever…lose that sense of humor sweetheart 🤣
“You know who isn’t an NFL QB? Tim Boyle…” – Princess
Well Sweetheart…Tim Boyle IS the 2nd string NFL QB of the Lions behind Jared Goff.
(But always right, correct?)
Jordan Love is also the 2nd string QB of the Packers, so even status.
.
Lets look at these two in their last Pre-season game, shall we…..?
,
(Undrafted) Tim Boyle against the Colts….
12 of 15 for 99 yards…80% completion percentage..1 TD, 0 picks, passer rating 116.
.
(1st round pick) Jordan Love against the Saints…..
12 of 24 for 113 yards…50% completion percentage, 1 TD, 0 picks, passer rating of 77.3
.
PAUSE: Now that everyone is done laughing at you…again.
.
Weren’t you the one Tommi who told us that Aaron Rodgers was “looking over his shoulder” because he was worried that Love would take his starting job away?
PRICELESS!
.
Think about that for awhile, then please…feel free to join us in laughing at you…errr, i meant…laughing with you.
.
Have a nice day Scooter 😉
“He looks more and more like this years Amon-Ra St Brown likewise a 4th round pick.” Tommi
.
Yea, i remember him last season, that was Gutes 3rd round pick Amari Rodgers (taken 85th) and Detroit’s 4th round pick Amon-Ra St Brown’s (taken 112th) both rookie season’s.
.
Gute must have thought more highly of Rodgers over St. Brown, as Gute snatched up Rodgers 27 picks before St. Brown.
.
Lets see….4th round pick St. Brown had 90 receptions for 912 yards, a 75% catch percentage and 5 TD’s for Detroit his rookie season.
.
Gute’s 3rd round pick Amari Rodgers had 4 receptions for 45 yards, a 50% catch percentage and 0 TD’s.
WINNING!!
****************
Listen Scooter…before you say Doubs is the next A-Ra. St. Brown. How about you let him play in his first NFL game, and maybe, idk… catch his first NFL pass before you crown him the next 4th round phenom?
.
Just sayin.
.
Oh my, your really getting flustered! What that means Kevin is Bakhtiari is that much closer to being ready to go week one. He may not make it, but it looks to be close. Packer fans everywhere can be happy about that. Even you. But, as usual, your a Debbie Downer. And where does it say Bakhtiari has to play in the last preseason game? I’ll answer that, nowhere. If you think that Jordan Love and Tim Boyle are the same QB just because they’re both backups. Then following that same logic, Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff must be the same QB because they’re both starters. I’m guessing Saints GM Mickey Loomis contacted Brian Gutekunst after two joint practices and Friday nights preseason game and said, “hey Brian, that Jordan Love kid lit us up in practice and in the game, I’ll take him off your hands for a 3rd round pick.” That happens when all you’ve got at QB is Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, and Ian Book. While no one would trade for Tim Boyle even though he’s a back QB just like Jordan Love. As for Romeo Doubs, we’ll revisit him during the season to determine which one of our assessments is correct. I say he’ll be just as good or better than at least half the WR’s taken ahead of him. While you can’t be bothered to even watch preseason games. But that doesn’t stop you from commenting on them….
What it means Scooter, is it doesn’t mean anything until he can play in games at a high level, like he did….almost 2 years ago.
He doesn’t have to play in a pre-season game Princess…but if he’s healthy enough to play, couldn’t he use the reps before week one?
.
Scooter?….do you even try to think, or at the very least, use common sense?
.
I’m not Debbie Downer, i’m a realist.
Please stop making me have to dumb down, just so i can try to relate to you.
.
So are you now admitting that Tim Boyle is an NFL QB? Did i teach you something…again? Good to see you learning from me again, albeit very slowly.
*****************
” I’m guessing Saints GM Mickey Loomis contacted Brian Gutekunst…….” – Gomer
Stop guessing, start learning.
.
If the Packers were offered a 3rd round for Love, and Gute didn’t take it. That would be almost as stupid as trading up a 1st round pick, and a 4th, and drafting a back up QB bench player when the team is on the cusp of a SB with a HOF QB.
Let me simple that up so you can understand Princess……
Using a 1st and 4th round pick to draft a player to sit on the bench for 2 or 3 years…offers a team NO help, on the field to win ball games.
.
But then again, in regards to the Love pick….in the words of Brian Gutenkunst….”We did what was in the best interest of the future of the Green Bay Packers”.
.
How’s that working out Gute(y)?
.
UNDRAFTED!! Tim Boyle
********************
Nobody said Doubs doesn’t have any skills Princess, but if you think he’ll come anywhere close to St. Browns rookie numbers, you need to be drug tested.
Doubs has NOT been tested against top competition.
Doubs may be a nice starting wide out in the NFL someday, But there will be a learning curve similar to Adams, in the best case scenario.
.
For every rookie player who breaks out in training camp and goes on to have a good season, there are 20 other players who flash in camp but are a total non-factor when the games begin to matter. That’s because Gomer…pre-season, is not regular season.
.
I don’t hear you singing Watson’s praises much, do you have higher expectations for Doubs, over Watson?
.
How about Wyatt’s and Walkers praises…where are they?
Are they even in Green Bay, i can’t tell.
.
“If you think that Jordan Love and Tim Boyle are the same QB just because they’re both backups….” – Scooter
.
You are actually correct Tommi…They are very different, Boyle was undrafted and didn’t cost a damn thing, Love was a 1st round pick that had to be traded up for with another draft pick and guaranteed 12 million….They are different!!!
.
So yea, your right Tommi…it really does sucks when Boyle out performs Love.
.
Gee….Maybe that’s why Boyle was the #2, and Love was the #3 when they both played for the Packers.
What’s the difference between Tim Boyle and David Blough Detroit’s third string QB? Nothing. They’re both the same. Both 27 yrs old, both have a limited skill set, both have reached their ceiling which is a marginal NFL player at best. What’s the difference between 27 year old Kurt Benkert and 28 year old Danny Etling? Nothing. Both have a limited skill set. Both have reached their ceiling as an NFL QB which is a marginal NFL player at best. All four players are virtually interchangeable. And the league is full of players just like them Kevin. There’s absolutely nothing special about them. It why they get passed around from team to team. 23 year old Jordan Love has a first round skill set and is nowhere near his ceiling. A ceiling which could very well be as high as a franchise QB. So naturally you want to trade him. You want your backups like Tim Boyle and Kurt Benkert because they’re nonthreatening to your boyfriend Erin. Jordan Love represents the future. A future without Aaron Rodgers. A future you and the girls refuse to face.

If you compare his stats, to other back-ups.
He isn’t that good. Gutey cleared out all the competition.

Yes, of course, the GM made it his goal to avoid having competition.
Tim Boyle, Kurt Benkert, and now Danny Etling: All supposedly greater talents that have been suppressed to save face from the supposed ” Jordan Love mistake”.
NOTE from PF4L….
John Doe #2 is comparing (undrafted Boyle)…(undrafted Benkert)…(7th round Danny Etling on his 10th NFL team since 2018 to traded up 1st round pick Jordan Love.
Supposedly greater talents?
Well….an argument could be made. If you think Love is clearly above those guys, you are sadly mistaken.
.
Gee….has the bar been lowered enough to judge Jordan Love?.

I’d trade him for a TE in a heart beat.

PF4L Random John Doe #2 thoughts….
The supposed Jordan Love mistake?…supposed?
Hmmm…The fact that the Packers have kept Rodgers around, the fact the Packers just dealt Rodgers another cash heavy contract…the fact for 2 plus years we have a 1st and 4th round draft pick sitting on the bench contributing nothing……..
.
And some people are still not sure drafting Jordan Love was a mistake yet?
WOW 😮
.
Tom M….i think i found your equal.
.
Any competent NFL man will tell you the drafting of Love by the Packers was a F story that has no happy ending.
But apparently, some still live in fantasyland.
.
We’ve seen Jordan Love in live (real) NFL action, and he was a deer in the headlights.
Now we see him in pre-season against inferior talent, and…..he still doesn’t look that good.
.
You also told us Rashan Gary wasn’t all that good. How’d that work out for you Kevin? It took Jordan Love exactly one year to become an NFL backup just like Tim Boyle. This year Love is surpassing him. Jordan Love is an ascending player while Tim Boyle is a lifetime backup in a dogfight to make the team in Detroit with David Blough. It was you Kevin that said Jordan Love and Tim Boyle are the same because they are both backups. They are clearly not the same. I would never make such a foolish statement. In order to evaluate Jordan Love he has to play. In order to develop Jordan Love he has to play. Wasting reps on marginal players like Boyle, Benkert, and Etling is wasting everyone’s time. That’s why Benkert was released weeks ago and last I heard still on the street. Benkert, who you claimed, was far superior to Jordan Love. If so Kevin, why hasn’t he found work? You’ve got a hard on to trade Jordan Love. So why couldn’t we have trade Benkert instead of releasing him? Why couldn’t we trade Boyle or Etling? Because they have zero trade value. They’re marginal players Kevin. They are not the same as Jordan Love. Jordan Love shows signs of putting it all together and if he does Kevin, the sky’s the limit. Tim Boyle will never be more that what he is right now. It’s why Love has trade value and Boyle does not. They’ll be 10 players just like him released about a week from now at final countdown.
I’ve got it! We’ll trade Jordan Love straight up for Tim Boyle! Ok, we may have to throw in fellow wasted 1st round draft pick Rashan Gary because Kevin tells us he’s not very good either. Gary and Love for Tim Boyle. That’s a steal Kevin! That’ll give us Aaron Rodgers and Tim Boyle at QB! That’s like having Batman and Robin on the same team! That’s so awesome! But let’s not stop there. I say we trade Brian Gutekunst for local boy John Schneider in Seattle. Schneider’s about to get his ass fired anyway. The first thing we’ll do is have our new GM give Aaron Rodgers a 9 year, 500 million contract extension. Because if Brady can play past 45 then our hero can play until he’s 50. But we’re not done yet, we then tell Schneider he has to draft a WR in the first round for the next 5 years. Because as Kevin tells us, “defense doesn’t win championships, stats win championships!” Are you with me ladies?
That’s right sweetheart…you let it all out 🙄

Well, probably 9, i think they are going to keep Love around this season.
That’s it Kevin? That’s all you’ve got? No more “John Doe” quotes from like minded, mentally challenged fans like yourself? You can do better! Dazzle us with some meaningless stats! So is “John Doe” an anonymous source? Do you have a mole deep inside the organization where you get your cutting edge information?
