9 Players Added to Physically Unable to Perform list
Several players were placed on PUP, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.

Demovsky also later tweeted that TE Eli Wolf was released. Wolf was added in the offseason as a waiver claim.
The most disappointing name on the list is Christian Watson as he has just come onboard and there is not any public knowledge of him having an injury. Watson is one of five total expected starters on the list.
They have until the season starts, however, to be removed and free of any playing restrictions. If they are not removed, they will be required to miss a minimum of six games and would not count against the 53-man roster. There may be more additions as the official list will be released on Tuesday.
We can all breathe easy going into the season knowing that TE David Bakhtiari is not on the list this time.
TE Sal Cannella Signed Just Before Training Camp Starts
Filling their 90-man roster in the process, tight end Sal Cannella, who worked out with the team on Wednesday, has been signed as the seventh tight end on the Packers roster(following the release of TE Eli Wolf).
Cannella is an undrafted TE out of Auburn who also played in the WR position. He was a part of the all-USFL team following a season with 34 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns.

He has played zero snaps in the NFL so far and will be competing within a heavily crowded group of TEs for the Packers.
A point regarding the NFL PUP rules for the 2022 season. Players can come back from PUP list after 4 games. In addition teams must indicate players who will be on the PUP list after the 2nd pre season game rather than during the final roster cuts.
Bakhtiari has not showed up to camp yet so he still may be put on the PUP list. It is disappointing that Watson is on the PUP list to start camp.
For Christian Watson my guess would be a hamstring injury or some sort. The Packers are always overly cautious with those. The injury didn’t play a factor in getting his contract signed this week. I’d love to see this TE prospect be able to push Josiah Deguara. It’s hard to say what we’ll have with Robert Tonyan once he’s back from ACL. At this point Marcedes Lewis brings very little to the table other than he’s Rodgers buddy and therefore a lock to make the team. TE looks to be the only real weakness on the roster.
Bakhtiari wasn’t on the list… until he was. Felt good a few hours but now – f$&k!!!
Here’s what Packer fans might be concerned about….
.
Funny how just 4 days ago Watson finally signs his contract after playing hard ball, then immediately lands on the PUP list.
I mean….WTF right?
.
The other 10 draft choices from the Packers were all signed by the end of May.
.
First, he’s a project..Argue if you want…but it’s true as sure as the day is long.
A lot of people say he was a reach to begin with.
.
Then you start training camp on the PUP.
.
Time will tell where Watson is headed….he could turn into a 1,000 yard receiver his rookie season, idk.
But what i do know is….
.
This isn’t a good start.
.
Recent history doesn’t bode well for higher draft picks who the Packers gave up picks, and traded up for.

Props to Howard for the call that Bakhtiari may still turn up on the PUP list.
