Betting Sites Expect Packers to Cruise to NFC North Title

Online sportsbooks have released odds across various categories for the 2022 NFL season and the Green Bay Packers are heavily fancied, particularly in the NFC North winner market.

Having won the division three years on the bounce, Green Bay is priced at -200 to make it four in a row, just like they did from 2011-2014.

With both the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears in a rebuild phase, it’s only really the Minnesota Vikings that the best online betting sites think could run the Packers close with odds of +275 to win their first NFC North since 2017.

The Vikings have not exactly made headlines with their offseason moves, but their strategic approach and upcoming draft picks are enough to convince some fans that things could improve under new head coach Kevin O’Connell.

But even without Las Vegas-bound Davante Adams, it’s perhaps tough to look past Green Bay, which is also among the favorites for the Super Bowl at +1000.

Only the Buffalo Bills (+650), Kansas City Chiefs (+800), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+900) have shorter odds than the Packers, while the reigning champion Los Angeles Rams are priced the same as Green Bay.

The San Francisco 49ers are in the mix at +1400, while the +1600 shot Denver Broncos could certainly be a force to be reckoned with now that Russell Wilson is under center.

Also at +1600 is the Los Angeles Chargers, who have had one of the best offseason in the league so far, with cornerback J.C. Jackson and outside linebacker Khalil Mack bolstering their defense significantly.

The Dallas Cowboys can’t be ruled out at +1800, and the Cleveland Browns might be an interesting proposition at the same price off the back of their controversial signing of Deshaun Watson.

Green Bay’s division rivals, the Vikings, are generally at +4000 to win the Super Bowl, so as far as the NFC North is concerned, it’s only really the Packers that are considered one of the main threats.

Aaron Rodgers has the opportunity to tie Peyton Manning’s record of five NFL MVP awards, and if he was to do so this year, he would also match Brett Favre’s record of winning the accolade three years on the trot.

Rather like the Super Bowl winner market, Rodgers has a handful of contenders ahead of him on the betting board, and leading the way is the Bills’ Josh Allen (+700), who was hugely unfortunate not to lead his team to the AFC Championship game last season.

Patrick Mahomes just got the better of Allen that day, and he is +750 to take home his second MVP award while Tom Brady is +800 to tie Rodgers and secure his fourth.

You can back Aaron Rodgers at +1000, which is the same price as third-year Chargers quarterback, Justin Herbert.

Joe Burrow exceeded expectations in his second year with the Cincinnati Bengals by helping them reach the Super Bowl, and he is available at +1400 to continue his progression by scooping an MVP award.

“Betting sites expect Packers to cruise to NFC north title?!?” What high strangeness is this?!? Why, the discerning Packer fan knows after years WR neglect and front office ineptitude, the organization is on the brink of collapse! Chicken little says the sky is falling! I say 12 wins sounds about right. What say you ladies?
