That day is now upon us: the NFC North battle between the 10-4 Minnesota Vikings and the 11-3 Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium in a state with enough inbreeding to make Alabama blush. It’s Monday Night Football, folks.
We’re going to need the Packers defense to be firing on all cylinders today and hopefully QB Aaron Rodgers ate his Wheaties this morning. I’m tired of ugly wins – these clowns need to be crushed decisively. The Packers are still a very healthy team and will be facing the Detroit Lions next week without their QB1, Matthew Stafford. If there was a game this season to give 100%, this is the one.
The Packers have done well for themselves this season by allowing teams to make big yardage while keeping them out of the redzone and staying ahead of the turnover curve. Green Bay has only defeated a single team this season on the road that is more than .500 — and the team they did beat, the Kansas City Chiefs, were without their QB1, Patrick Mahomes. A repeat of the 49ers loss will be a disaster for the teams morale going into the playoffs.
A Few Things You Should Know:
A win tonight will give the Packers their first division title since 2016
Vikings QB Kirk Cousins has never won a Monday night game
The Packers have never won a game at U.S. Bank Stadium
According to Vivid Seats, Packer fans will make up about 20% of the game’s attendance
If the Packers defeat the Vikings, and next week the Detroit Lions, and the Seahawks defeat the 49ers next week, the Packers will enter the playoffs as the #1 seed.
Vikings RB Dalvin Cook will not be active this game – he managed 154-yards rushing and 37-yards receiving against the Packers in week 2
The weather doesn’t matter because the Vikings are pansies that play indoors
The Packers are 5.5 point underdogs
