It’s put up or shut up time for TE Jimmy Graham and it’s going to be more obvious by the end of the game who the true WR2 is for the Packers. It’s game day with the Packers traveling to Texas to show how it’s done. Has the Packer run defense improved? Will the injuries hold them back? We’ll see.
Things to know about Packers vs Cowboys
The Packers are dealing with injuries of a few key players including WR Davante Adams, RB Jamaal Williams, CB Kevin King(who was upgraded yesterday from doubtful to questionable), and CB Tony Brown

RB Tra Carson was recently promoted to the primary squad from the practice squad
LB Oren Burks, recovering from a pectoral injury, was back at practice this week (albeit in a limited capacity) and may be eligible to play although he is listed as questionable

Well fuck me Jen Hale…..It’s game day bitches!
This game will come down to a few things, the most important being the ILB’s. If they have their usual game, Green Bay loses. If Rodgers holds the ball looking FOR ONLY ONE particular receiver (which he does way too often), they lose. If the running game sucks (which it most likely will), then Matt Lafleur needs to go to a hurry up offense and dink and dunk. If not, they lose. Keep in mind, if two of these three scenarios exist at the same time(s), then the Packers lose easily. I Still have no confidence in the WR or ILB group. That needs to be earned, not assumed . . . Jimmy Graham sucks with his one handed attempts, if he is expected to do anything, that should start with using BOTH hands, If his shoulder (or something else) is impeding his using two hands to catch the ball, he needs to sit. Enough reality! Go Pack Go!
The Packers run game against the Cowboys needs to drop the outside zone run unless the plan is to get the Cowboys flowing one direction and then cut back. The Cowboys have speed on their side, that can also be a disadvantage if you are reacting to fast to misdirection. The Packers in the run game need to use misdirection, and try to run straight at or off tackle at the Cowboys, as they are small up front. Think of the Rams playoff game last year against the Cowboys. The Rams ran right at the Cowboys and overpowered the Cowboys front 7. I would be suprised if LaFleur did not notice that game plan by McVay.
Good points Howard. But that ILB group of Green Bay . . .
Is it me or does it seem the cowboys should have 14 points?
It should be noted, that at 7:48 left in the 2nd quarter on Rodgers 22 yard pass to Jones. Jimmy G had a nice block on Jeff Heath. Of course….after the play Jimmy couldn’t let it be without….making a muscle and pointing to his bicep.
(although Jimmy might have missed blocking Chidobe Awuzie who ran in free to Rodgers at the LOS on the same play.)
***
He also had a decent block earlier in the game. I say this not to just credit Jimmy G, but the team as a whole. It’s easy to see there is more support team blocking than we have seen in the past.
PF4L’s best phrase, the Tramon Williams school of tackling reared its ugly head
Micheal Gallup 40 yard td catch (T Willy). I don’t care how close he was. You either do, or you don’t.
***
T Willy, #3 in Gutes top 5 personnel snafu’s.
Sidenote…..MVS doesn’t seem to know some of the plays (routes). (I hardly doubt it’s a situation where Rodgers doesn’t know the play and MVS has to explain the play to Rodgers when he gets back in the huddle.).
***
Also…Dean Lowery the object is to stop the runner before the goal line, not assist him in getting over.
***
I can’t seem to shut up. Is it just me, or was a new tone set with the Gallup td? This is getting ugly. What’s next, the Packers get the ball back up 31-17 in the 4th and execute 3 n outs?
A 3rd and 27 and your going to throw it to Aaron Jones 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage? Is that the best we can come up with?
Don’t lay the 3.5
Lol…Yes Sir.
Well, a win is a win. Hopefully today was just a bad game for Jaire Alexander. For this defense to succeed, he needs to shut his guy down. This game just felt like it was one the good guys should have lost. Cowboys moved the ball up and down the field at will. It was good to see an actual ground game, at least for one week. Lions next week, seems like it could be a big one since the Lions are apparently good.
Before anything, huge props to Aaron Jones, almost 200 all purpose yards and 4 tds. Without him, this team may have been dead in the water.
***
After D. Adams, it’s often asked who our #2 receiver is. Today with Adams out, MVS had 1 catch, G Mo had 2 catches and a small handful of drops. So it’s clearly Aaron Jones.
***
Nice job with the defense getting 3 picks, but it’s G D disturbing to me when the defense gives up 5 fucking hundred and fucking sixty three fucking yards….WOW. You will lose 19 out of 20 games when that happens.
***
4-1 is great (who would have thought). Now how about we put together 4 solid quarters of football, in one game? It seems like that hasn’t happened in years.
Dallas people bitching about the refs. What was that roughing the passer call against Gary? His hand grazed Prescott’s helmet.
Bears looked good today.
Stiggys Review:
What Went Well:
Aaron Jones
Jenkins… for all the talk of Savage…Jenkins looks like a man out there.
Resiliency- The packers were a sieve on defense…but they had a lot of third stringers and nobodies out there. Two guys living on the bottom of the depth chart got some nice INTS
Zekes rushing yards.
The Bad:
Injuries: Savage, King, Linsley, Z smith, And others i probably missed could all linger.
Kick Coverage- We almost lost our kicker due to horrible coverage yet again (holding penalty aside). Special teams has been largely effective despite kick coverage
Not putting the cowboys away.
NOT SCORING A TOUCHDOWN FROM THE FUCKING ONE YARDLINE AGAIN
All in all this game feels worse than it should due to a horrible 4th q and some timely picks (Ie the first drive) that swung the momentum. The Cowboys should have done better BUT… Guess what? Turnovers are highly important momentum changing plays and the Packers were generating them against the next “elite” qb.
Ill take a win with 3rd string dbs, williams (whose basically a third string db), WR #1 on the bench, and a rush heavy attack leading the way, on the road, against a top team. The packers passing attack was effective enough to at least convert some third downs and keep dallas off balance and this team has shown it can win in DIFFERENT ways…an important aspect of being a solid playoff team.
I think a lot of fans would love to watch Aaron Rodgers go out and dominate games and put up video game numbers. That being said, you are correct. They have won three games now in ways that wouldn’t have been won in that manner the past couple years
The only reason the cowboys lost was because Tyron Smith was hurt- Killer
“The reason the Packers win, was because it was their turn” – The Lonely Boy
Well back to usual not able to relax late in the third with 28!! points ahead.Lafleur looked a bit lost trying to talk to Rodgers.
Yea…i gotta say, i was pretty damn proud of this team (the whole team). Right up until the Gallup td in the 3rd, and then shit just got ugly.

I just want to see 4 solid quarters of good football, even if they lost. I want to see it.
In other news, it looks like Jay Gruden’s keys will no longer work in the building after all
Yeah the writing was in the wall all week. The Redskins 100% leaked those videos. If I was a prospective head coach for the NFL, the Redskins would be my absolute last choice. There is not a more dysfunctional organization out there
You could make a case for the jets as well. I would include the dolphins and Bengals but while their owners suck…they actually seem like half decent people and mike brown will at least keep paying you for many years…seeing the Bengals this year makes you appreciate how much marvin lewis covered for mike browns leadership.
Woody Johnson however is just as inept..if not more inept than dan snyder.
As much as Murphys inactiaon has caused some atrophy for the packers…it pales in comparison to the meddling of johnson and snyder.
Imagine being stuck with any of those 4 as a packer fan. With that being said we should be leery of the bears finally getting their shit together once ms mccaskeys steps aside.
I was expecting the Packers to lose badly, so anyway they win is great.
Was it just me, or from about 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, that seemed like the longest Packer game ever. Every time I looked at the clock, I was saying, “There’s too much time left”.
Think there will be a story about the win before Thursday?
