The Packers added some depth to the OLB position by picking up former Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker, Tim Williams, a day after he was released from the Baltimore Ravens. Williams was a 3rd round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft(78th overall). His current career stats in the NFL include 18 tackles and 2 sacks.
The Packers have released TE Evan Baylis to make room for OLB Tim Williams, who was claimed off waivers.

Tim Williams claimed by Packers, per a league source

Williams is credited as a talented pass rusher that should fit well into Pettine’s defense.
TE Evan Baylis Released
In order to make room on the 53-man roster, TE Evan Baylis was released. The 6’5″ 250-pounder played for University of Oregon. After going undrafted in 2017, he was picked up by the Houston Texans. Baylis was originally signed by the Packers to their practice squad in December of last year.
This previous August, Baylis was waived and then resigned again the next day to the practice squad. After the Packers traded WR Trevor Davis to the Raiders on September 19th, Baylis was then moved to the primary roster.
Packers May Still Have a Use for Baylis
The #Packers plan to re-sign TE Evan Baylis to the practice squad if he clears waivers, per source. @RobDemovsky first mentioned Baylis was waived to make room on the 53 for OLB Tim Williams, who was claimed today from the Ravens.

Like last time, the Packers are likely to pick him right back up again for their practice squad.
There should be some movement in the TE room next year. With Graham’s contract expiring, and him not really living up to it, it should be Tonyan, Sternberger and … ? We still don’t make the TEs a significant part of the offense, so it shouldn’t matter much.
Yea…my first thought while reading this was i don’t think any of these 3rd stringers are changing anything.

Fun Fact: Tim Williams isn’t the type of guy who believes in people carrying pistols around with a concealed carry permit. He prefers to do it without the permit apparently.
I believe gun laws are unconstitutional, but I digress
I don’t think we have had a TE dynamo since Keith Jackson and Mark “hot tub” Chumura.
I think we might have had one developing with Rodgers and Cook. Rodgers doesn’t run that play against Dallas without having 100% confidence in Cook. What might have been i guess. On the bright side, we got Marty Bennett and Jimmy G.
